What Is A Backyard Putting Range?

First things first: A backyard putting green is not only for experienced gold players. Take me for example. No one would call me a real golf player. I neither have experiences with playing on large golf ranges nor do I own many clubs. Yet I love to practice putting.

I guess it started in my childhood when I was introduced to mini golf. The precision and the calculation was fun for me. But you’re not here to read my childhood stories, right?

A backyard putting ground is a putting practice ground in your own back yard. Although there are synthetic options you can even chose to get a real putting green. You can landscape your backyard to be your own putting paradise.

The organic option is more popular since it’s exactly like the green on a golf range. On the other hand the synthetic green feels similar to the real thing and is less expensive. Both options have their advantages.

I think there are many reasons why a backyard putting green is a great investment both for beginners and experienced golf players.

Let me give you an example in form of a story. The day in your office has been long and frustrating. Your boss was in a terrible mood and the meeting was a disaster. And finally you come home late since you got stuck in a traffic jam.

You arrive at home and want to relax yourself by playing golf. But to play golf you have to get all your gear, get into the car again and drive another thirty minutes to the golf club. And after coming home again your wife complains about your absent.

How great would it be to just play golf without having to drive to the club? Wouldn’t you like to just relax in your backyard and practice some putting? If you have your own backyard putting green you can have your time-out whenever you like. And the best thing is: You can decide about the landscape, the materials, everything!
