Beginner Golf Tips

Golf entails a lot of training and practice compared with other sports. You  have to learn how to use yourdesigner golf gear, have a prospect venue for golf clubs training and most importantly, select the best golf footwear. You definitely can’t become a golf expert overnight so here are a few basic tips for beginners to remember

* Choose wisely- the very first step you should take is to choose your first set of clubs. Everyone knows golf is quite an expensive game and its gear could cost thousands of dollars. As a beginner don’t try to go for the latest branded golf accessories! Think of what would happen if you decided to quit? Lots of money gone to waste! Comforting to know though that many of the leading brands including Wilson, Dunlop and Knight do have packages available that are quite affordable.

Garage sales are also a good place to find quality clubs. Professional golfers tend to replace their equipment very often so  you might find great quality clubs at a cheap price.

Basically avoid overspending since you’re still a beginner. Concentrate on getting good at the game before considering buying branded and more expensive clubs.

*Understand the game- it would be a good idea to have some lessons after you understand the rules. If money isn’t a ‘problem’ for you then you might consider enrolling in a golf school. You’d learn fast this way. For those with a smaller budget, getting lessons from pro golfers at the club would be best.

* Practice- for your first practice sessions you might just want to use the backyard and find some bucket to shoot the balls in. This way you’d learn how to swing right and be able to make all those bad shots without anyone minding. For putting you can simply move the furniture in the living room around and the carpet would be the perfect venue.

For those who have bucks though, the training grounds many clubs have would be a better place.

* Get out and Play- once  you’ve practiced your swings and putting enough and think you can handle a few eyes watching you, find a real golf course to play on. Don’t settle for any green lawn but find a course with all the holes and flags.

Try out the Par 3 courss instead of the normal full sized ones since these are shorter. It would also be a good idea to inquire about crowds, you wouldn’t want a whole bunch of people to ‘boo’ you when you loose so make sure the course is not that crowded.
