How To Get Beginner Golf Instruction

One of the questions I’m continually asked by beginner golf players is: Do I need golf lessons? As a professional golf coach, guess what my answer is? Of course you do.

I say this not to fill my lesson book but to seriously help golfers learn to play golf properly.
I’m not sure of where I heard this but did you know that golf is the 2nd most difficult sport to master biomechanically? There is hundreds of sports out there and golf is one of the most difficult yet people try to improve with almost no professional help. It is like learning to drive with no help. Trying to diagnose an acute disease without a doctor or specialist or trying to clean the fuel injection on your car without a mechanic. All of these jobs listed sounds difficult and you wouldn’t dream of doing it yourself unless it was your profession or you at least had some experience in that area.

Hopefully you understand that the golf swing itself is a complex movement. There are a variety of reasons that explain why you’re swing is poor. You need more than golf tips for beginners, let me show you why you need beginner golf instruction The first one is your body. Most swing issues are born out of physical limitations, that is people swing the way they do to protect their body and move their body where it is most comfortable. Many golfers with tight hips add additional knee flex to their stance so they don’t have to bend from the hips. This creates other swing issues and forces you to swing from non athletic posture.

Secondly your concepts of the game have an impact on your game. What you think happens in the golf swing does it actually happen? Does the head stay still? Do you lift the ball in the air? Are divots bad? Misconceptions ruin a golfers ability to play good golf. They are trying to do things that can’t be done or do not suit the game we are playing.

Thirdly your equipment has an impact on your game. Is your equipment suited to you? Would you go into a shoe store and ask for a pair of size 11 shoes? What if you’re not size 11? The point is you need help selecting your equipment from an experienced professional. Equipment not fitted to you can lead to all sorts of swing issues. You will change your swing to make your equipment work for you. Have you ever not been able to hit your driver in the air? Therefore you go and practice with the driver to get it right. What are you doing? You are changing your swing to suit the driver instead of matching your equipment to you personally. This can be a continual adjustment if you’re not careful.

Hopefully this article has illustrated to you that golf is a complex game and that you need help from a professional to help you understand the factors that are limiting you.

Being very competitive can be so essential with whatever field it is that you are in. Having such spirit means that you are willing to take a step higher and improve what you previously have. The same thing applies in golf. When you have such spirit, it only means that you are willing to submerge yourself on the real battle in golf. However, a competitive attitude can take two sides. It can either be healthy or detrimental. As such, you have to be extra careful when this attitude is dominating you. In this article, two varied faces of a competitive attitude for golf mental toughness are discussed.

Let us take a closer look at the positive side of being competitive first. When you have a competitive attitude, your mind would really be set towards winning. As such, you will do everything just to reach such goal. Consequently, you develop a positive attitude. You become more optimistic with each game you do. Even if you feel like you are behind your opponent but you have a competitive attitude, you will still find means in order to catch up. In addition, if you have such attitude with you, you will only keep on moving positively forward. In short, you will keep on reaching your goals no matter what it takes.

On the other hand, having too much of this attitude becomes unhealthy already. This holds true when you do not anymore create a healthy atmosphere each time you play. When you seem so competitive, you tend to guard each wrong move done by your opponent or each violation made. This would make you complain and protest right there and then. This would even complicate once the golf is taken to a more personal level. You seem to hate your opponent already simply because you are already behind him during the actual game. When you continue having this attitude, you are already taken out of your actual goal during the game. This does not serve any good!

To sum this all up, having a competitive attitude can either be good or bad depending on how you make use of it. If you dwell on its positive aspects, then you will really make the most of it. However, if you seem not to dwell on its real essence, you will never achieve what you are supposed to have.

Philip C.Gavosto “Fairway Phil”

I had been looking for a new rangefinder for a while because I am a 9 handicap and wanted to see if I could lower my single digit rating. Most of my friends have opted for the GPS type units that I looked evaluate for over 6 mos. My previous rangefinder had been lifted at a golfing outing. It was also a Bushnell; it was OK , but was not as sharp as the one I purchased. The Bushnell Tour V2 has advanced the accuracy and quickness of operation quite well.

A lightweight (Class 3) laser housed in a durable ABS plastic case that attaches to a player’s putter face with adhesive tabs. The laser is activated by pressing a small button when the player grips the putter.

The Laser Putting Alignment System is factory calibrated. Because it is physically mounted to the putter face you can be assured that the laser is pointing exactly where the putter is being aimed.

The thumb trigger is positioned smartly so the player does not have to change his/her grip pressure to activate the laser. This will assure that the putter face doesn’t rotate when the trigger is pressed.

The shape of the laser unit does not interfere with the optics between the putter and the ball.

A “squared” putter face looks different when a golf ball is present than when one is not. Using the Laser Putting Alignment System simulates having a ball present, even when one is not.

In addition, the wings of the laser unit (where the laser mounts to the putter face) act as guides to ensure center of percussion contact with the ball. If you want to make sure you are square from 3 or 30 feet, there is no simpler, better-designed laser alignment device on the market.

Here are some tips to get the most out of the Laser Putting Alignment System:

Practice short putts of 3 to 6 feet. Not, of course, to the total exclusion of longer putts, but your time is best spent grooving a putting stroke and mental attitude that gets the ball in the hole consistently on short putts. Better short putting will also lead to better long putting as you become more confident of your return putts.

Do most of your practice on a level putting surface. Try rolling balls from the hole or target towards the spot where you intend to hit your putts. Try it the other way aswell. Once you have your spot, start your practicing. If you know the putt is a straight put, and you know that the face of the putter is aimed at the hole, but the ball drops in at the side each time, that is useful feedback. Breaking putts are so dependent upon speed that it makes certainty (of aim and stroke) difficult to achieve.

Some golfing errors can be fixed by certain golf swing tips. Everyone needs a good golf swing tip- Amateur golfers need golf swing tips because they don’t know anything. Seasoned golfers need golf swing tips because they don’t know everything!

Chances are, regardless of winning or losing, you will feel horrible after a golf game. The back will be aching, and your muscles will probably be stiff. The cause of this is an overstretching of the muscles, as well as the golfer taking a wrong move during a golf swing.

The technical problem of a stiff body is that it will be difficult to consistently deliver good swings. Hence, it is advisable that despite being off the golf course, one should always practice stretching exercises. Stretching only requires a few minutes in a day and can benefit flexibility as well as adaptability.

There are also cases where back aches are not related to golfing activities. However, these back aches can effectively become worse with the addition of golfing activities! Hence it is advisable to first visit a doctor prior to golfing just to ensure that golf does not make your back ache more severe.

Some golfers also get golf swing aids to help them in their game. Amateur golfers especially find that a golf swing aid can help speed up their learning curve. Then again, there are also golfers who prefer the traditional way of learning golf for half the challenge of golf is about being patient.

These are also the same golfers who believe that the key to a great golfer is a golfer who pays attention to the basics of golf. This is correct as a golf swing will definitely improve if the golfer is able to apply the fundamentals of golf and integrate it into his or her swing. Take note that this process takes a long time, but that is also half the fun of playing golf.

Golf swing aids come in plenty of forms- books, DVDs, swing jackets as well as human fleshed instructors. It is important to remember that the main objective of getting golf swing aids is to improve your swing, rather than to have style over substance. It is also important to note that the most important thing is to always practice and keep striving to be better at golfing.

The most important thing about learning golf is the spirit of wanting to know and learn more about golf. After all, there are plenty of mediums that may have the best golf swing tip for you. We would like to recommend The Simple Swing electronic book that features tips and advise for the beginner as well as the seasoned golfer.

There is one thing that drives over 80% of golfers crazy. The filthy slice. For the uninitiated a slice is a shot that starts left of the target and curves violently right for right players. For left hand players it starts right and goes left. There is nothing good about a slice. Both distance and accuracy are affected. The problem is that really only beginner to intermediate level golfers actually slice, due to their inexperience and low level of knowledge they don’t know how to fix them.

So let’s start with why does the ball curve the way that it does? The two main ball flight laws that determine a slice are clubface and path. The clubface has 83% more effect over the direction of the ball than the path. So if your ball is slicing to the right I can guarantee that your face is open. To make matters worse, because you fear the ball going right you will move your path to the left. This is dead wrong. Now you have an open face and a path that cuts across the ball. Severe left to right side spin is created and now you are looking for the ball in the right trees all day.

Do you recall my statement earlier about how important the clubface is?? This is the key to fixing your slice. We need to square up or even close that face. Would you believe that little effort is required to achieve this. In the golf swing the clubface is controlled by the grip and the flexion and extension of the wrists. First we need to check whether you have a neutral grip on the club. If you wear a glove if you have a wear mark on the pad of the hand or the thumb than I can tell you your grip needs fixing.

Firstly the lead hand or top hand. The grip must run diagonally through the fingers from the middle joint on the index finger down to the base of the joint on the little finger, the thumb needs to be softly placed on the right side of the grip, to the left of center. If you have done this you should achieve a vision of 2-3 knuckles showing on the top hand. Now for the right hand, this again must be done more through the fingers basically running through the first joints on all fingers on the right hand. The thumb will be placed on the left side of the grip, just to the left of center. You also need to check that the pressure on the grip through your hands is light and that the right hand covers the left thumb. These steps are vital to correcting a golf clice

If you grip it as shown, you will find it hard to slice. The clubface is king. There are many other ways one can fix their slice. This tip attacks a common problem amongst all slicers: the clubface due to the grip.

As they always say, never dwell on your mistakes, but learn from them.. This is definitely the essence of a post- shot routine in your golf mental game. It will tell you what to do in your future games and the ways on how you can correct certain errors committed on the actual game. Thus, if a pre- shot routine is essential for you to produce a quality shot on your present game, a post- shot routine is perfect for you to do better on your next games. This means that this routine will take care of your improvement more than anything else. This makes a post- shot routine of equal importance to that of a pre- shot routine.

When you are to improve your post- shot routine for your golf mental game, there are only two very important things you have to consider. First of all is the ability to move on from a previously done shot and ability to take note of details in a previously done shot for improvement in the next shots.

Let’s keep an eye on the first thing you have to place into consideration.. This is the ability to keep going.. By moving on from a previously done shot, this would mean that you have to move positively forward. In short, you have to make sure that you dwell on thoughts that would make you improve more and leave behind thoughts that would make you feel down and discouraged. This is very essential if you are to do better in an actual game. You certainly have no time to dwell on your failure, but you have to move forward to determine your next step for the game so that you can easily catch up with opponents.

On the other hand, a post- shot routine must also include your proper observation and note taking on important details done with your previous shot. One of these details is your carry distance. This will make you determine the things you need to improve for the next round. You also need to be keen at the speed of your shot.. See to it that what you did is appropriate to create a successful shot. Otherwise, you have to change the force you give to make it more appropriate on the shot that you are to do. Finally, you have to take note also of the mannerisms you did which distracted you from having a successful shot. This will disable you to have the same mannerisms done in the future again..

Certainly, your post- shot routine is essential for your improvement in your golf mental game. Thus, you have to show your best to really improve at it.. Do not just focus on your pre- shot routine, but try to make ways in order for you to look into this as well. Eventually, both the pre- shot and post- shot routine will affect your performance.. In life, both your preparation and evaluation matter and so is with golf.

S.Vidmar

I’ll admit it…I tried a cheaper product made by Garmin. It locked up every three or four rounds. After trying three units I gave up and bought the SG5. It works great. The color screen is very easy to read in the sun. The charge lasts longer than I expected, usually three full rounds at least. My only complaint is that it’s a little bigger than some of it’s competitors. You can’t slip it into your pocket to take a swing. But I’ve used it for six months and it’s performed flawlessly.

I am often questioned about the best possible Golf address-ball position and stance, to prepare for the best possible chance for consistent ball striking. As you address the golfball it’s position plays a key task inside the course the golf ball may hold subsequent to impact. The further toward the back inside your stance the lesser the flight and the less backspin and more roll. The further forward in your stance the higher the flight path and the more backspin and a lesser amount of roll.

An upside to playing the ball backward inside your stance is the capability to craft golfball grass contact. If the golf ball is rearward inside your stance it is easier to make contact because the clubhead is swinging down towards the golf ball. The more forward you move the ball in your stance the bigger the threat of hitting the ball on the upswing. If you make contact on the upswing you may strike the middle or top of the golf ball furthermore the consequence may produce a low shot with flat trajectory.

By addressing the golf ball frontward within your stance the leading edging of the golf club may swing down into the earth directly under the golf ball. As the leading edge of the golf club makes contact with the ground in addition to the bottom of the golf ball, the golfball will climb up the clubface which in turn lifts the ball into the sky. The lifting motion impacts flight plus backspin, 2 crucial elements to pitching the golf ball subtly around the green.

These golf instruction tips will help you If you’re struggling with pitching the golf ball, placement within your stance can play a key role in you getting back on track. If you start with the golfball inside the center of your stance you may be able to create contact and observe immediate results. Keep in mind shifting the ball forward in your stance will permit the golf ball to go up with trajectory though it makes the shot a smidgen more risky.

A lot times it is complex to notice if the golf ball is in the exact location when you are addressing the golf ball. One of the finest ways to see if the golfball position is correct is to put into practice with 3 straight edges. The top line (straight edge) must point towards your proposed line you want the ball to travel on. The bottom line (straight edge) ought to aim parallel to the top line. The bottom line is meant for your feet, knees, hips as well as shoulders.

Since you address the golf ball and get ready to pitch on top of the green there are a quantity of things that have to be in place ahead of you begin the back swing. The golfball location plays a gigantic roll in the arc of the golf shot. If the golf ball is exceedingly further to the rear in your stance the golf ball may fly very low down. The purpose you want to play the golf ball ahead in your stance is so the foremost lip of the wedge may find the bottom of the golf ball with as much loft on the club as possible. At address you want to have 75% of your mass on left side moreover make sure the grip of the golf club is across from your belt clip. These three things are imperative to pitching the golf ball along with loft.

If you happen to be a student in the game of golf, then you may be in need or even be looking for some newbie golf swingteaching tips. You may get this with the help of a country club or golf course in your area. You could also talk to people you are friends with, perhaps somebody who is either studying or working with at the community college. Maybe through them, you can find out if their school gives classes for beginner golfers. The newspaper and Internet can also be good sources to look into.

Now, for starters, there are a number of important things that you ought to be considering before you start taking your golf swing lessons. In the game of golf, the mental aspect plays a very important role. Confidence and a positive attitude will help. All the golf pros started out as beginners too, so try not to be too conscious once you have started out in the game.

To get the self-confidence that you will be needing, try talking to yourself in a positive manner or give yourself a quiet pep talk while you are in the process of taking your very first swing. Golf swing lessons can be quite traumatic, most especially for beginners since they tend to be anxious or worry too much about what other people who are watching them might believe.

Focus and concentration are the two most important things that you need to do when playing golf. When you train yourself to always concentrate and focus, it will
greatly help you with your beginner’s golf swing lessons.

And lastly, but most importantly, get a good teacher or golf instructor and prepare yourself physically and mentally. It will help you more in getting better together with your instructor’s beginner golf swing instruction tips.

I can’t tell you how many times I play with golfers who are about to quit the game. Golfers use multiple training aids to develop their golf swing. Most of these can be purchased from the sporting good store but did you know that there is something you can use at home? Golfer’s believe that the perfect golf swing is a myth, but it is achievable, all you need to do is practice the basics until the swing becomes second nature.

A Perfect golf swing is nothing but to cut some strokes off your game. To get a perfect golf swing you need a lot of practice.

Creating that perfect golf swing Is by no way an easy task but it is indeed very possible. Did you know the average golfer’s gross score is 107 shots You may receive all the greatest golf tips, take countless lessons but still may not be able to maintain consistency.

Consistency is probably the single most important aspect of accomplishing a lower handicap. We all know that it’s no secret that having a regular swing is the key to having a great game. Consistency is indeed the key and after you learn what works for you, you must practice to repeat the same swing over and over again.

Practice this while maintaining your position. While this can be daunting at first, you can make things easier for yourself by breathing at a relaxed pace while
maintaining the position without tensing your muscles. Practice your golf swing by focusing on straightening your head and keeping your eyes on the ball. Practice
your swing at home or in the park using your training aids. Then play as much golf as you can.

Focus on your target . Make sure you are comfortable before you do. Focus on where you want the ball to land, as you swing. Keep the best energy rushing and don’t give in to any negative thoughts.
