Should You Spend Money on a Used Golf Club?

When you find that a top quality Callaway driver costs $1,500 or more new and you can find it used for less than $300 used, the thought of buying used golf clubs has to come to mind. That can be a great move, but make sure you consider a few of these simple guidelines before you decide you’re about to get a great deal.

Before you plunk down your cash, make sure that what looks like a good deal really is one. To see of it is a bargain, compare the price with a new club of the same brand and model. A new Ping putter may run up to $100 or more. A used club that costs $50 can be a good deal, if there is no damage and still of high quality.

When examing the club, look for obvious problems, such as worn grips.

Splits or cracks in the leather or rubber are not just a sign of age. Grips can be replaced. But they also suggest less than stellar manufacturing or poor care. A club left out in the rain may have rust spots, but those could have been cleaned off before being offered for sale.

The effects of weather on a grip are not easy to disguise and few sellers will want to spend the money to replace one when they’re getting rid of the club. On the other hand some might, knowing that a few dollars invested can fool you. Take Caution. Re-gripping may run anywhere from a few dollars up to $15 or more. Even if you’re willing to spend the extra money right away, you’re buying a club that is not in great shape. Reconsider.

Examine the clubface of a used club you’re considering buying.

Almost all used clubs will have some wear, but if the sweetspot is worn shiny, you might want to give it a pass. A clubface showing wear will cause your shots to be less accurate, which may be the reason the seller is offering them in the first place.

The grooves should have well defined edges. They are there for a purpose. If there are dents in the surface, you should move onto the next one. Those will cause your flight angle to be off.

Test the shafts, too.

Graphite shafts are lighter weight than steel, but they are slightly less durable. They’ll dent easier. Double check the shaft and make certain it is still perfectly round. Dents, grooves and other forms of club abuse might throw off your swing because the flexibility and torque of the club may be affected. The effect is subtle, but real. Test the shaft by trying to gently twist the head and grip in opposite directions. This could be very difficult. Otherwise the shaft is weak.

Steel shafts can get damaged, too. Even if there are no sign of dents, a steel shaft can get bent. That can happen from a missed swing, or an angry golfer who decided to whack the club into the ground or a tree. Any deviation can suggest that a club has been bent. No golfer without special equipment could straighten the club back to its original shape. If they did try to straighten the club, it can still weaken it and affect the flexibility and the balance. Move on.

Even a better way of buying used clubs is buying certified pre-owned golf clubs from Callaway. Callaway certified clubs must pass a 10 point inspection. You can also try them for 90 days under real life conditions and if you are not satisfied, they will buy them back. Callaway certified pre-owned clubs also come with a 12 month warranty. Buying certified used clubs may be a great way to save money, or a way to trade up to some better clubs.

Buying used clubs can be the really smart way to go, especially for those relatively new to the game. Purchasing used clubs can be a cost-effective way to find out if your dedication to the sport justifies spending hundreds or even thousands for high-quality new clubs. Once your golf game is up to snuff, you may want to go that route. Or, you might just find a great bargain on a used club after all.

So, you are planning to learn how to play golf, eh? Well, here is one recommendation for you. If you are still learning this game, you have to learn everything. There are other aspiring golfers out there who would ignore the importance of learning the right golf putting tips because they presume that golf putting is very simple But what they do not know is, it can also be the reason why one can lose a round of golf. That’s why, when you are learning everything, be sure to check out the smaller details, too. A better golf player always spends his time to train his skills and golf putting is one of them. You can find some golf putting aids on the Internet and for sure, they can help you learn how to putt in your own pace and time.

When you are ready to learn how to improve putting a golf ball, what you need to do is you can go for e-book guides that are available on the Net today and as a matter of fact, there are dozens of books like these that are written to help any golfer how to improve golf putting techniques. The best thing is, once you have this book guide, you can learn putting a golf ball on your own right in your own home. Of course, you can practice putting anywhere but unless if you are practicing your swing, you want bigger space, right? Anyway, buying a golf putting e-book is so much convenient and not too costly than hiring someone to train you in putting golf balls.

So that you can better choose an e-book guide for learning how to putt a golf ball, what you do is you need to read some reviews first for, say, the top 5 book guides and see what you want to get to improve or for better putting. That way, you can read some testimonies from other golfers and some recommendations from them when it comes to choosing e-book guides for learning how to play golf.

Everyone is looking for a bargain these days. Why shouldn’t golfers get a price break also? Well, you can if you have the right mindset. Clone golf clubs provide a perfect way for a golfer to save a bunch of money. What are your feelings toward knock off golf clubs? Do you think that only name-brand golf clubs work to hit a golf ball? Are you on a professional golf tour?

The reason professional golfers play major brand golf clubs is that they are essentially given the golf clubs to use. In this way, millions of eager golfers see a professional golfer using brand name golf clubs. This provides cheap advertisement for the golf club companies and cheap golf clubs for the professional golfer.

When a golfer turns professional and receives their PGA Tour Card, they are given so much money to play a major golf club brand. Every time they make the cut in a golf tournament, they receive more money toward golf clubs. Win a tournament and they receive even more money toward those golf clubs. This is in addition to the money they win from the tournament.

Of course, the professional golfer wants to play golf clubs that they are comfortable and confident swinging. The major golf company wants as many golfers as possible to play their golf clubs. Toward this end, the golf clubs are modified in any way that the professional golfer wants. Adjustments to the loft, lie, shafts and head weighting would run the normal golfer a lot of money.

The bigger the marketing budget of the major brand golf club manufacturer, the more prevalent their golf clubs will be on professional tours and the more their brand name will be in front of regular golfers that will pay full price for those golf clubs.

Those major brand golf club manufacturers have to attend to the adjustments that pro golfers constantly require. This includes special vans and personnel on site to make those adjustments as the players request them. Do you think you could pay for that kind of attention? Yes, you pay for the attention those pros are getting every time you purchase major brand golf clubs. Those expenses are passed on to the consumer.

You may also want to purchase major brand golf clubs and not worry about whether or not they actually fit you and your golf swing. This is a major mistake if you want to get the most out of your golf clubs.

Knock off golf clubs that are custom made to your physical characteristics provide the best value for your money. You can save your money with the difference in how much major brand golf clubs cost compared to discount golf clubs. You will also enjoy those clubs because they will allow you to best opportunity to play well.

Sunglasses are very popular at this time and you even can see sunglasses on people in bad weather! But for golf the sunglasses have an other benefit as well, not just being trendy…
The mechanics of golf demand precision and when the sun prevents you to strike from the right angle, then, you haven’t got the right equipment. Golf sunglasses are must-have items of a golfer’s apparel. They allow for good strikes, correct club choices and lots of personal comfort. Squinting at the sun would make it impossible to see where the ball gets on the course. No matter the weather, golf sunglasses should be worn constantly: on cloudy or bright sunny days, the action of the ultraviolets will be less harmful.

Golf sunglasses have some special features incorporated. The frames and the lenses could cause a lot of inconveniences if not well chosen. Any golfer depends on a snug fit of the glasses for a good face comfort. Therefore, buy golf sunglasses with light and flexible frames. Try several pairs on before deciding which is the better fit. Pay attention to eye protection and the peripheral vision too. Wind and debris could affect visual capacity, therefore, choose some frames that reduce the impact of such factors.

The lenses have an even higher importance than the frames. Maximum protection against the UVA and the UVB: this is what you should find in a good pair of golf sunglasses. Try polarized lenses because they provide protection and reduce the glare. Professional players also have several pairs of golf sunglasses to wear depending on the weather. For instance, there are lenses that allow a superior visible light transmission, and they are ideal on overcast or partly cloudy days.

Some high quality golf sunglasses have other special features incorporated. Thus, the lens features prevent sweat or dirt from sticking on the lens surface, not to mention that shadows get highlighted too. This considerably improves visibility and maintains it for a longer period of time. Nevertheless, you should also check the product instructions to learn how to clean golf sunglasses properly. Unless you are pro or someone who plays golf very often, you should carefully consider the budget, your needs and the extent at which you will wear the glasses. If you only play golf occasionally, there is no point in buying several pairs of golf sunglasses for alternate wear.

Online Golf Instruction can be risky because in most cases your picking from a cluster of videos that are titled with different swing problems that you may be having such as fix you slice or fix your hook. You might even run into sites that tell you just read this book or new way to swing the club, break 90 in 3 weeks or what ever you get the idea. So what do you do? I say you need to pick a course and stick with it.

Achieving a comprehensive golf swing can be something that a lot of golfers wish for. The majority players know that if you can refine the swing, then you are likely to have a much better game overall. This is because if the swing is hard, fast and accurate then the ball will travel closer to the hole right at the beginning of the game. It will then take less shots for it to be potted and your score will be improved.

If you can get a decent start like this then your self-belief will be enhanced and this should help you to play better as well. It is very central to be happy with the way that you are playing as if you are not happy then your game is likely to get even worse as a result. Even by improving your game just a little bit, you should find that your self-belief will be boosted and you will feel much happier and play enhanced.

To get a improved swing with Online Golf Instruction you may think that the only answer is to shell out for some costly lessons from a golf trainer. This is likely to help you to progress but you will still need to keep practicing the new techniques and make sure that you are following the instruction that you have been given or else it will be a misuse of time. You will not achieve anything if you do not keep working at it and if you do not think that you have the time to hand over to it then you may as well not bother making a start really.

However, most people can take some time to practice, even if it is during a TV program or in your lunch hour at work. Remember that if you can master the technique of a full golf swing and it becomes a new habit, you will not need to perform this aspect so much any more. There are lots of resources to choose from that you can use in order to help, even if you cannot afford professional lessons. One choice is to do Online Golf Instruction.

It may even be improved for you to work through a book, DVD or website at your own pace, rather than having a few quick lessons which could be expensive. It also means that you can keep going back over it if you need to and also choose the bits that you feel you need the majority help with.

If you have mastered the techniques but feel like you are getting a bit rusty, you can go back to the DVD, book or website and look back over the exercises or information, a full swing video clip, or do some more work again. Choose rather, which you think you will easily be able to work with, a medium that is convenient for you and rather in a excellent price range.

You will find that there is lots of choice and it is worth looking through them and taking some time doing this, so that you pick out the one that is best suited to your needs.

If ever you have found yourself thinking how deep we are into technology, take a moment to ponder this: manufacturers offer software to do nearly anything you could imagine. For the less computer savvy; software is a computer program that performs specific chores. This is compared to hardware, which refers to the material computer units and accessories. A great system for you to consider is the Garmin Golflogix GPS.

When a particluar item or practice is wildly popular, there will be an enormous amount of software marketed for it. Unfortunately, a substantial amount of software most often means fluctuating levels of quality. As an example, golf is a popular game which has a large amount of available software. Certain types of golf software can enhance your game and sometimes improve your score. Less user-friendly golf software may prove either so inconvenient to employ or so simplistic that it can possibly encumber your game, unless you use a good system like the Garmin Golflogix GPS.

Normally,  golf software enables  you to properly predict the distance your ball will go and the manner in which your ball will respond in different weather conditions, and also if you use a variety of clubs. With the addition of a Global Positioning System or GPS, the potential applications of golf software multiply considerably. The initial thought is that this software could calculate the distances relative to specific locations on a golf course, enabling the player to make calculated choices. The GPS comes in when you would like real time information about your position relative to surrounding water hazards and tees. You should be aware of several issues to think of when evaluating your personal golf GPS software.

The primary point to be considered when considering software is any applicable hardware specifications. These will influence the speed at which a program can function, or whether it is able to perform at all on a given machine. Golf GPS systems are devices that work exclusively as computerized golf assistants, however, golf GPS software is designed to be installed on a handheld device like a Personal Digital Assistant. Some of the things you need to find out about any new software includes what machines will it function on, what operating system can it interface with, and the amount RAM and hard memory will it use? Hand-held devices are much more limited than laptop and desktop computers, therefore knowing the software requirements becomes even more important.

Next are the usefulness of the software itself. Is it simple to install? Will it update easily with new functions or maps? As it is not reasonable to attempt to keep data on every individual golf course in the world on any handheld computer, swapping data in and out ought to be a simple procedure. What’s more, you ought to buy software with regards to whether the company includes free data downloads or subscriptions.

In the game is where any software will show its true colors. The user interface ought to be logical, clear and concise as well as easy to use. If the software includes pictoral maps such as aerial or satellite photos, are the photos detailed? Of course, the data and calculations need to be precise to be of any use.

Golf GPS software has revolutionized how we all play golf. Golf is a sport, and a golfer’s achievement is a factor that everyone takes notice of. But for some, the attraction will simply exist in happily being in the weather and the company as opposed to their score. The Garmin Golflogix GPS is a great system to complement your software.

The Accra DyMatch originated by the sheer number of players, both recreational and tour, that were using the same drivers shaft, fairway wood shaft and hybrid shaft.

“That situation led to some interesting discoveries.  “We got to learn and watch what was going on out on the tour and DyMatch is a direct derivative of what we learned in our first year.”

“Until now most manufacturers have been design shafts statistically – creating them based on specs and profiles that they want to achieve.  Then they take them out and test them.”

For the DyMatch took a very different approach.  They challenged their engineers on a project, giving them the premise that the specs were going to be thrown out the window – they basically wanted a “kick ass” driver shaft using general profiles. That is, a shaft based on a tip and butt section.

Th end results is an exceptional driver shaft between 55 and 75 grams with an easier “load” than any previous Accra.  They proceeded to test their shaft on average golfers all the way up to Tour players.  A resounding consensus was met – the “smoothest” feeling shaft, maybe on the market.

The DyMatch comes in three models (S Series) and one iron model (I Series).

Accra DyMatch S1 Series-
This series of shafts is designed for the golfer looking for speed and distance.

Accra DyMatch S2 Series-
The Series #2 shafts are designed to increase stability for those with higher club head and ball speeds.

ACCRA DyMatch S3 Series-
The S3 Series is the ultimate matched series of graphite shafts designed for the serious golfer looking for performance and feel.

Actual Player Feedback-

Pros/Positives-

A very smooth feeling shaft that will fit many player profiles.

Cons/Negatives-

Price tag is higher than most shafts.

Overall Rating-

We like this shaft because Accra took the time and went against the grain a bit on this one.  Most shaft makers will not even entertain the thought of not conforming to specs.  Well, Accra did it and it looks like the pulled out a good one – The Accra DyMatch is a unique shaft that caters to many types of players.

Revealed Below: The hidden secret golf “Insiders” are now using to cream their competition on the Course…..
And the best part is…
you’ll see it happen in 30 minutes. I know, right about now you’re probably thinking “Yea Right!”

There’s so much HYPE in the golf world, it’s hard to take any of these claims seriously.

Well, I don’t blame you one bit. I would have been thinking the same thing a year ago.

But what happened to me changed my thinking about what’s possible. And if you’ll follow along for a few minutes, you’ll be rewarded with a new insight into how to take your golf swing to pro levels and beyond faster than you can say “I miss Tiger”.

Well, if you’re laughing at me right now…I deserve it.

I had to learn the hard way what you already know – it ain’t that easy!

I forked out several hundred bucks to get some “Professional” advice on my swing.

After each lesson I felt like my head was spinning with everything I had to remember.

My swing would improve for about a week (I did learn some good fundamentals) … but then POOF!

The improvements were GONE and I was actually worse off because my brain was crammed full of things to think about when I’d tee up.

Most of my time on the golf course was spent feeling frustrated and embarassed.
I was sick and tired of spending money on golf only to leave the course more worked up than when I arrived. (plus, I was losing too many bets with my dad).

I was about to pack it in for good… when a one-in-a-million coincidence put me in touch with a man named Tracy Reed.

I bumped into him on the phone…
completely by accident
I didn’t even know he was into golf.

After talking with him for a few minutes on an unrelated subject…he mentioned to me how he “Taught golf in 36 countries”.

Turns out he had written a golf manual that was sending ripples through the golf world. He was selling it on the internet and golfers from all walks of life were getting amazing results.

I was curious, hopeful… and VERY skeptical when Tracy claimed he could…
Cure my slice in 15 minutes… over the phone!
I had been working hard and spending money to improve my game.

From 7 Handicap to Pro Golfer….
“I’ve worked with Tracy for years and had nothing but success. His visualization techniques are the best I have ever seen, and his ground breaking Dynamic Balance routines are something that every golfer, whether beginner or professional should use.”

Gary Brewer II, PGA Professional

In The Money…
“I have had more higher finishes with bigger paychecks in the 2 months since I worked with Tracy than I did in the previous 4 years… and the results have been almost instantaneous.”

Curtis Knight
Professional Golfer
Jacksonville Florida

Imagine getting results like these without changing your swing or paying a pro for lessons:

Up to 70 accurate yards added to drives literally overnight
Scores dropping by 5, 7, even 12 strokes in 2 DAYS
300 yard drives becoming “common”
Golfers hitting the fairway with robotic consistency
Young, old, beginners, advanced… everyone who actually did what Tracy suggested got better – FAST.
What’s amazing is these results were from beginning and advanced golfers …without taking private lessons with Tracy.

These golfers were hitting massive drives with
clockwork consistency…

Simply from reading Tracy’s “Golf Swing Control”
instruction manual!
I don’t know about you, but I’ve read a LOT of books on golf (including many great ones), but I never got results like this:

Try This System, It Works!
