When planning a Myrtle Beach golf holiday, there are a few steps that are going to be involved. As with any golf holiday, a Myrtle Beach golf holiday will typically be at least a few days long and so there is going to be some pre-planning involved here. You are going to have to choose from the hundreds of different available golf courses, find suitable accommodations, and all the while make sure that you stay within your available budget.

Where to Play

When you are planning a Myrtle Beach golf holiday, know that there are almost an endless number of places that you can go to golf. There is the Grande Dunes Resort Golf Course, for one, which is located high on a bluff overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway with numerous elevation changes, 34 acres of lakes, wide Bermuda grass fairways and bentgrass greens.

It is a 7,618-yard 18-hole course that boasts outstanding views and different sets of challenges each time you play it. With six sets of tees, the course can accommodate golfers of all skill level while still providing interest and intrigue.

Where to Stay

You are also going to have to find a place to stay for the duration of your Myrtle Beach golf holiday, and at least you can rest assured in knowing that there is a myriad of lodging options, from family-owned motels and hotels with economical rates for those on a budget to extremely luxurious condos and resorts with spacious vacation rentals and amenities such as exercise facilities and tennis courts.

Get Insured

Golf holiday insurance is important on a Myrtle Beach golf holiday because it protects and safeguards you and any expensive golf equipment that you bring with you on your travels. With this insurance you can rest assured and enjoy yourself more on your trip, knowing that in the event that anything unfortunate were to happen, you would be safe and would have the insurance there to take care of you.

The best idea, before you ever begin planning any Myrtle Beach golf holiday, is to determine your budget, because everything else has to be worked around this. See how much money you have to spend on the trip and then fit everything into this, as this will not only help by narrowing down your choices but also by making sure that you stick to your budget and do not go overboard and end up spending more than you need to.

It’s another day in the Golf Shop at my Golf Club and I am handing out scorecards for the weekly tournament, when along comes Jim, a club member bemoaning his bad luck on the golf course. I asked him what’s wrong and he said that they should dig up the 13th hole. I can never make a par there he says, it always messes up my scorecard along with a few other holes I could mention

Jim has a mid to high handicap so I asked him what’s your handicap these days Jim? i am a 17 handicap he said. just to let you know The 13th Hole at Winterfield golf course is a 368yd par 4 with a stroke index of 2. So I asked Jim what is your par for that hole? It’s a par 4 Kevin you know it is, he replied. It is for a scratch golfer I said, but what’s your par? He looked at me with a vacant stare so I proceeded to explain to him my meaning.

Your par for that hole is 5 not 4, with your handicap you can have a 5 and still not lose anything in relation to your handicap. So every time you stand on the 13th tee and think about making a par 4 you are making it harder for yourself. But if you stood on that tee and said to yourself it’s a par 5 how would you feel then? I am positive you would be more relaxed and think, that’s not hard I can do that, and that is exactly how you should tackle every hole you play.

And therein lies the problem most mid to high handicap golfers have, they are not playing their own game they are trying to play Professional golf. This is where good course management and mental approach comes in to play.

What you should do is make out a your own personal scorecard relative to your handicap. In Jim’s case there is only one hole on the course that he is expected to par and that is stroke index 18 the easiest hole on the golf course. If your golf course has a par of 70 and your handicap is 15 then your par for the course is 85. I hope you can understand this here because it’s an important part of golf course management.

I know it goes against the grain but it will make each hole seem easier and allow you to play with and relax. Instead of getting out the driver on these tough longer holes and then messing up because you feel you must try to get a par, take golf clubs you are more comfortable with. Now you have your new way of thinking with regard to par you will be pleased to see how much easier it is to play each individual golf hole. A par 4 on the course where you have a stroke means 3 shots to reach the green and 2 putts. Think this way and you will be amazed how many times you make an actual par, which in your case means … BIRDIE ….

I finished off by saying to Jim to think about your mental approach to the golf course now! Standing on par 3′s that now become par 4′s .. How much easier is that on the mind? With a nod of thanks and a gleam in his eye Jim left the shop and set off to the bar to join his friends and enjoy a well-earned drink.

This great game of golf is hard enough without putting a lot of pressure on yourself. Manage your own game better by thinking correctly and your golf course management will get better along with your enjoyment of the game. Look at each hole at your golf course in a new light. Draw up your own personal scorecard.. NOW !!

Golf is one of the most admired games in the world today. All around the world people are on the golf course every day. Golfers are very passionate about their game and are always hunting to find new help with golf game advice to better their game.

Here are some great golf swing tips to help you better your game on the course, whether you are looking to correct a golf slice or need help with a golf swing that is flat, you will find these tips useful.

When you play golf, don’t just whack the ball as hard as you can and expect that it will make the ball land near the hole. Unlike cards, this is not chance but proper technique is involved to make it happen.

This may not happen every time because there are things beyond your control like the wind and any obstruction that lay within the path but you can just imagine how well you can do if the conditions are just perfect.

The first tip to do well when you make a golf swing is to learn how to control your body. In this game, how you elevate your arm to the time that you let your club hit the ball is important. It is not only about strength that makes the ball travel a long way but the recoil effect.

So how do you get this recoil effect? This is done by not turning your body too much when you start from your right to the left. There are a variety of aids to help you out here like working with a heavier club, getting someone to watch you, practicing in front of the mirror and recording how you swing with a video camera and playing it back.

When you twist from one side to the other, keep your hands relaxed the entire time. If you are unable to do that, you put a strain on your muscle making it hard for you to accomplish the shot you desire.

To make this work, keep in mind that the arms are an extension of something bigger because the power does not come from here but from your abs and hips which happen to be two are the largest muscles in the body.

Make it a point to always strike the ball right in the center. That way, you are able to divert it to the direction you care for it to go. So you know where the ball is going, keep your eye on this until you send it flying through the air.

Aside from working on the upper body, don’t forget to work on your footing. For that to happen, make sure both feet are flat on the ground so you are able to transfer the weight from the right side until it passes a a small amount over your left shoulder.

The golf swing tips mentioned are not difficult to do. It just takes a little bit of practice so that you are able to maintain consistency each time it is your turn to putt on the green.

What if I were to tell you that you hardly knew anything about the game of golf that you love and play? Would you call me crazy?

Well, that’s not exactly what I’m saying. What I am saying though is that after you read this article, you’ll be able to tell others that with confidence, because you’re going to know things that very few people know about golf.

In this article, I’m going to give you such great golf trivia, that you’ll sound like an expert to anybody that you talk to .

• The PGA (Professional Golfer’s Association) was founded as a non-profit organization on April 10, 1916.

• Todd Hamilton was the oldest golfer to ever win the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year award. In 2004, he was awarded this honor at the age of 39.

• Arnold Palmer was the first PGA golfer to earn $1,000,000 cumulative. He accomplished this feat in 1967 and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974.

• The LPGA equivalent to the Ryder Cup, known as the Solheim Cup, was first played in 1990 at the Lake Nona Golf and Country Club in Orlando, Florida.

• The PGA began to award Rookie of the Year awards in the year 1990. The first winner was Robert Gamez.

• The first Masters Golf Tournament was held in the year 1934 and was won by Horton Smith.

• The oldest major tournament in golf is “The Open Championship” also known as the British Open.

• In 1945, Byron Nelson set a PGA Tour record by winning 18 total tournaments in one season. During this season, he also won 11 tournaments in a row. He was also added to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974.

• Vijay Singh shocked the world by replacing Tiger Woods at the top of the Official World Golf Rankings on September 6, 2004. He ended Tiger Woods’ reign at the top of 264 weeks. In that same year Vijay was also named PGA Tour Player of the Year.

• Jack Nicklaus, who is regarded by many as one of the greatest golfers of all time, amazingly accrued 73 PGA Tour victories along with 10 Senior PGA Tour wins dur

• Patty Berg, in 1946, won the inaugural U.S. Women’s Open.

• Gene Sarazen, in 1930, first thought up and invented the sand wedge that is used to this day.

Now do you believe me? I think that I’ve delivered on my promise. If you can commit these facts to memory, you will definitely have golf knowledge that 90% of people do not. I hope that you have learned something valuable for you and that you can now share this trivia with others.

When you feed your mind with knowledge, like this, a natural stimulation of intelligence takes place that enables a person to more quickly and intelligently act. So, not only is this knowledge benefitting your trivia endeavors, it is beneficial for you as an entire person.

The new Cobra L5V driver is equipped with a large face that combines light carbon crown and sole insert to move the center of gravity (CG) low.  In fact, the Cobra L5V CG is so low that as much as 70 percent of the face is above the CG!  So if you are looking for a low CG, you’ve found you’ve found it with the L5V.

Tom Morris, Principal Design Lead Engineer from Cobra, states “this is significantly more than most drivers (CG) and ensures over a high ball speeds to optimize launch conditions over a large face area.”

The Cobra L5V combines titanium (body, face and insert), carbon composite (crown and sole) aluminum (hosel), stainless steel (swingweight screw) and tungsten (screw) to make for no limitations in terms of the weight that can be moved around the head.

Actual Player Feedback-

“played 36 holes this weekend with this driver with the stock Diamana Redboard stiff and all I can say is wow, this this is seriously long”

“blows me away, better then any driver i have hit including the FT-iq, 09 burner, cleveland launcher”

“I like the big, rounded head, and the dimples on the top are cool; it give me something to focus on…”

“Very lightweight and it screams confidence with its high trampoline effect…”

Pros/Positives-

2 adjustable settings to optimize your personal ball flight and a stock Diamana Red shaft makes for a great combination for the recreational player or better to fit nicely into this driver.

Cons/Negatives-

If it made the face angle adjustment up to 2 degrees instead of only 1, it would have been more meaningful.

Overall Rating-

The Cobra L5V driver may be one of those new drivers that takes the market by surprise.  However the concern is that the driver may not have been marketed to the point that most golfers will find it.  Cobra for the most part, makes good drivers and markets them well.  But this one just didn’t catch on as much as the others in its class.  Nothing taken away from this driver though, it has had great comments.  My advice would be to demo it to see if fits your swing.

The Sun Mountain golf cart website is the place to go when you want to look into buying a new golfing caddie. These push golf caddies are becoming more popular each year as more golfers decide to walk the course for better health conditioning. Anyone who has walked 18 holes knows how important it is to have the right club caddie, and old-timers can probably attest to how miserable it is when you have the wrong club caddie. Using a Sun Mountain golf cart can make the difference between having a great day on the links and having a miserable one.

What makes the Sun Mountain golf cart so impressive is its level of quality. There are plenty of club caddies on the market today. Some of these are fine machines and perform well, but others are hard to operate, hard to steer, and not very stable when used on inclines. More often than not, golfers do not realize the problems of a particular club caddy until they are well out range of the pro shop. The trick to happy golfing is to start your day with a club caddy that you know is going to perform all day long, no matter what type of terrain you end up on. This is where the Sun Mountain golf cart really shines.

If you visit their website you will be able to see their product line in large, high-definition images. Any company that is willing to show you their products at this level of clarity and detail is a company that is proud of their products and not afraid to showcase them. The most popular style of Sun Mountain golf cart is the push forward type.

The push forward model of club caddy is becoming more popular as more golfers try it out. Instead of pulling the club cart behind you as you walk, these models allow you to push the caddy in front of you. By pushing forward rather than pulling behind, you reduce the amount of stress that is put on the lower back, shoulder, and neck. For people who already have these problems, the push forward Sun Mountain golf cart is a dream come true. Not only can you get through the course with minimal strain on the lower back, but you can experience pain-free living after you leave the course. After-play pain complaints are a common problem for some golfers.

Another interesting feature to their website is that you can find golfing accessories there that every bit as high quality as the Sun Mountain golf cart line of products. You can find wet weather gear, bags, umbrellas, and other useful items that can make your day on the links more enjoyable.

Anyone looking for a push forward caddy should spend a few minutes exploring the Sun Mountain golf cart product line. If you are going to buy this style of caddy, you should buy the best that you can afford. This ensures years of happy performance.

The police use a speed gun to check the speed of approaching vehicles and a similar one is used in baseball to clock the speed of the pitch. Not to be left behind, golf has the “golf swing launch monitor” to study the art of the swing.

The golf swing monitor is designed to tell a golfer a host of information which include: club speed, angle of launch, face impact position, ball speed, flight time, distance carried and yards off line. The information gathered can help the novice and even the avid golfer study the physics of his swing, correct the errors that he is committing and get the proper golf swing.

The machine analyzes more than a hundred swings of the golfer to give its results. Both amateurs and professional can use this contraption to better their swing. These machines are produced by a number of companies and you can get one at the nearest sports goods store.

Now that you have your golf swing monitor machine and the results of its analysis, what exactly does the information convey? Just numbers? No. If properly understood it can tell you whether your ball speed is proportionate to your club head speed. If not, then it means that you are not striking the ball dead centre with the flat face of the club. A ratio of 1:1.5 would be an ideal one. Simply stated, a club head speed of 100 mph. should make the ball travel at a speed of 150 mph.

You might think that getting this ratio is easy. Think again. Most professionals get nearer the ratio of 1:1.4. If yours are far off, you need, not only more practice but also a change in basic technique.

The next thing that you could watch out is the lunch angle. The higher the better, as this parameter determines the travel distance of the ball. Your backspin should be less. You may achieve a launch angle near the optimal angle of 12 degrees but if your backspin spins near the 5000-rpm (revolutions per minute) mark, what you are going to get is a pop-up. Tiger Woods launches at more than 11 degrees with a backspin rate of around 2,200 rpm.

The more costly the machine the more number of parameters it will measure and analyse. It also depends on the software that is doing the analysis of the data gathered by the machine. If you can hook it up to your PC or your laptop, all the better.

Achieving the right launch and angle requires technique. Supplement the results of the analysis by the golf swing monitor with good advice from a seasoned coach, practice in front of a mirror or take a video recording of your swing and watch it to be on your way to get the proper golf swing.

Will the golf swing monitor help improve your game? If used properly, a definite yes. So you can think of getting one if all other golf swing instructions fail to improve your game.

Years ago there was no hardware or software to analyse your golf swing. We should be glad that such training aids are now available to improve your game and attain the proper golf swing. There is no more guessing involved, everything is down in numbers and numbers speak volumes.

Are you looking to buy a push golf cart? If you are, you may be able to find some great deals when you do your shopping online. There are several reasons for this, and we will look into a few of those in this article.

One of the main benefits to buying your push golf cart online is selection. It is true that most of the better pro shops and sporting goods stores have at least a few of these caddies in-stock. But it is also true that no one has the selection options that the Internet offers. You can, literally, look at dozens of different models, from different manufacturers, and at all price points without leaving home.

This ability to view such an incredible number of buying options lets you find the perfect push golf cart for you and your needs. You do not have to settle for what is on the store floor when you shop online.

The second major benefit you get when you shop online for your push golf cart is price advantage. Online golfing vendors are no different than other vendors. They want to earn your business, and if that means offering their products to you at a discount, then they will do that. By visiting with a few online vendors you can not only find the best deals, but you can also get a very good sense of what the “normal” price is for a push golf cart. When you see models that are above that price, you can spend a few moments determining why there is an increase. There may be good reasons for this higher price, and there may not. But at least you will be informed enough to know to look.

The third benefit you get when you shop online is that you get to learn more about the new features that may have come out since you last did research. An example of a new feature that many people might be interested in is the power assist feature that is now available on many models.

The power assist feature is simple a small, battery-operated motor that helps deliver added power to help get the caddy up steep inclines. There are also fully functional motorized caddies that include a larger motor and work for both flat terrain and inclines. One other recent improvement to the push golf cart is lighter weight. Virtually all of the major brands have been able to lighten their standard models by at least a few pounds.

The above are just a few of the many benefits you get when you do your shopping online. Huge selection to choose, information on new features, and best prices are all good reasons to let your computer do the work for you. When you shop via the Internet for your new push golf cart, you can rest easy and get a lot more work done in a much faster fashion. Try it today and see for yourself
