Better Golf Driving Distance

Name your number one wish for 99% of all us golfers? Sadly for me as a fan of the short game, it is to rip that ball as far down the fairway as you can. golf driving distance is a god.

Visualise the scene, you are on the first tee, the sun is warm and the birds are singing in the trees. You reach for the driver and the only thought in your head is knocking the skin off the golf ball.

But, is that what happens? Do you drive 300 hundred yards? Do you land it on the fairway? How is your golf driving distance?

Or, do you always play the second shot from the rough? Are you always the first one to take the second shot? Are your buddies always waiting for you to catch up?

The long golf drive is the one every golfer longs for, for some reason it taps into the animal in all of us. A long drive is immensely satisfying and yet it is always the putt that wins the hole.

Can you add distance to your golf drive? Yes you can but it is not about cracking the ball harder, remember the old saying, don’t work harder, work smarter!

The secret to ripping the ball like the pros is not really a secret at all. There are a hundred and one gurus out there telling you the news everyday. If the cat was in the bag, it’s getting out pretty regularly.

The big disadvantage here, and the Internet is only making the situation worse, is that there is too much information available.

Get More Distance with Golf Instruction DVDs

Remember when there was only three channels on TV, you always watched one programme, now there are hundreds and you channel hop all over in case you are missing something better.

The secret, well,if there is one, is to narrow your focus a bit. Stop jumping from one piece of advice to another dreaming that the next tip will ‘be the one.’

The easiest way to golf driving distance is to adopt one way of doing things. If you have a whole bunch of people giving you different advice you will learn nothing at all.

I recommend only one golf instruction program because I believe that is all you want. Purepoint Golf instructional DVD’s give a clear, easy to understand focus for all aspects of your golf game.

Pick one program, I use this one, and stick with it, don’t wander off looking for ‘magic tips’, there aren’t any. Focus and practice are all you need.

I hope you will try this Golf Swing DVD out for less than half the cost of a private lesson you can have your own pro for life.

P.S. This golf instruction dvd comes with a 90 day guarantee and bonuses plus if it doesn’t work for you they will send you $100
for wasting your time!

Better Golf Driving Distance

Many golf beginners drop their hut and surrender because they experience frustrations in the execution of their swing.  This should not happen because swing is doable for every one even for kids and seniors.  The most common mistake of beginning golfers is that they try to give as much strength they can muster in the execution of their swing.  This is not necessary because fluidity in motion and direction driven swing is what is necessary.

Needless to say, as in physics, understanding the concept is easy but execution is always the issues.  If you have noticed, I said physics.  This is because golf swing is all physics.  You will need to follow certain anglings and mind your movement to create fluidity of motion and giving direction to your ball.

I hope I can help you improve your golf swing by giving you some of the useful tips on how to execute the proper golf swing.

Parts of a golf swing

Backswing
Downswing
Follow-through

What is the backswing?

The backswing is the where you begin your effort to give direction and control to the golf club.  A good backswing sets the stage for that perfect swing, if you do not feel your body coil as you give power to your club, it may not be a perfect way to move forward into the downswing.

It is imperative that your execution of the full swing starting from your backswing will give the fluidity and strength to the club and ultimately the ball.

What is the downswing?

In here is where you will transfer all the power you mustered into the ball and send it off rolling.  The alignment, stance and grip will define this moment and thus, the result of the swing.

There are three phases of downswing, which happens in less than a second. The phases shift from the backswing, rotating and finally hitting the ball.

Upon impact will you only know if you did the swing right or failed in your attempt.  If you slice, hook or shank the ball, do not worry.  Even professional commit this mistake many times.

To execute your swing well you may need a mentor to guide you, choose a mentor and surely, in time, you will be able to execute you swing well.

However, this is not the end.  There is but one more part of the actual golf swing, the follow-through.

What is the follow-through?

It is in the follow-through where you release all the force and finishes the swing.  Your position in the follow-through will tell if you did the full swing perfectly and thus sending your ball to the hole.

You will surely be able to say that you did the full swing well if your follow-through gives you the position where you chest faces your target.  The follow-through will also send your clubface accelerating upon impact.  The perfect swing does not stop upon hitting the ball; the follow-through finishes your swing and defines the delivery of the ball to the target.

Like in any game, there is no overnight success in playing golf.  Even, golf professional you see on television started long before to master that perfect golf swing.  It is for you to practice and ensure that every mistake is noted and every game is improved.

Do not be afraid of poor stroke, but try to improve every time and practice.  This is the only way to hit the ball to the hole.

Golf is a strategic game where you do not need power alone.  You will need strategy and lots of practice to execute a golf swing.  This is because a golf swing takes time to master.  For beginners, you will need to understand the concept of the game and practice until you improve your handicap, lower your score and execute a good swing.

Golf is both technical, strategically and a different kind of game where it is possible for you to play it while doing business at the same time.

This is because scholarly and rich individuals who may possibly do good to your business commonly play this game, thus learning golf is imperative if you want to be successful in your business as well.

Anyway, so much for commercial reasons, this article is to give you a guide to begin your journey into golfing fun.

What do you need to play golf?

Understanding of the game
Proper equipment
Patience
Practice

I do not want to be too technical about it, my mission is to help you start and improve your golf game.  Read on and have an open mind.

Understanding the game

You will need to know that your goal is to send the ball to the hole. You must be getting curious as to why players spend so much time to take the tee?  This is because you will need to learn the swing to send the ball to the hole.

The golf course has many holes you need to cover and the distance between each hole could be somewhere from 100 to 600 yards.  You will need to learn how to swing the ball, possibly reach the level of hitting the ball to travel at 100 KPH.  To do this you will need to practice.

Proper equipment

One equipment you need to be comfortable with is your golf club.  Do you wonder why a golf bag contains numerous golf clubs?  This is not only to give the caddy a job; it is because in one single game, you will need all the different kinds of golf club.  Types of golf club necessary to play a golf game are the putter, iron, wood, wedge and the driver.

All of them play a particular part in the game and you will need to understand how each of them work.

Let me tell you at this point that many beginners mistakably purchase costly golf clubs and this is not necessary.  You only need a golf club that you will be comfortable with, thus if you must buy, buy your golf clubs intelligently.

Patience

You will need to give fluidity to your swing and if you are angry, frustrated or too excited, you will not be able to deliver the swing that will lead to the hole. You may feel frustrated at not being able to make good your swing but take time to relax and try again.

Practice

There is no overnight success in golf. You need to practice to execute that perfect swing.  Practice without the ball and practice with the ball.  You may be able to execute the swing perfectly without the ball, but executing it with the ball can make the difference.  Thus, you will need a lot of practice to perform that swing you see on tournaments.

I hope that the above will help you begin playing golf.  Have fun and see you on the green.

How much would you give for a golf slice cure? If anyone has got one then please let everyone.

That is a light hearted response to the affliction that plagues golfers around the world and unfortunately it is the correct one.

There is no one single way to cure a golf slice but only a series of steps that you can take to get rid of it. The actual steps that are required vary from golfer to golfer and the secret is to know which ones you need to take.

The slice happens because of the relationship between the club face and the ball at impact. If the contact is square ,i.e. the face is 90 degrees to the target line and the force of the club is forward then all is well.

The problem lies in the fact that the leeway on these two parts is very small indeed. The club head will travel around thirty eight feet in an accelerating arc whilst you are looking elsewhere, that is, at the ball.

This is such a huge subject that in this article we will only tackle a couple of the steps, look out for more Norman Stanley articles in the future!

Step one: Go back to basics, check your set up. Place a couple of clubs on the ground parallel to each other like train tracks. Now the furthest one away from you is the ball line, or target line. The one nearest you is your line.

Take your stance on your line and ensure that your feet are both at the line then check your hips and shoulders are also in line. Use another club held across your body to do this. If you have room in the house it is helpful to practice in front of a mirror.

Step two: Going back to basics again practice your grip on the club. Place the club in your left hand across the base of your little finger and the second joint on your index finger. Now fold your hand around it, you must avoid the temptation to pull the club into your palm.

Now bring your right hand onto the club directly against to your left, it does not matter which type of grip you prefer, interlocked or overlaying but it must be opposite your left.

This is the classic neutral grip and the one that you must build from. It may require a bit of adjusting in time according to how you actually swing but it should be the core from which you build.

Now practice, practice and practice these to steps before moving on to more advanced techniques. I know it sounds very simple but unless you build your grip and your alignment first everything else will be a waste of time.

Remember there is not a single way to stop the golf slice only a journey to the perfect golf swing. I hope you find this advice useful to start that journey.

Learning how to draw a golf ball is a talent that requires some practice but when you have that knowledge it can help you play better golf and cut your handicap.

What is a draw in golf? It basically means that you curve the flight of the ball from right to left, this is for a right handed player, obviously it is the opposite for a lefthander.

Why would you want to draw a golf ball? The advantagesof being able to performthis shot are numerous but the two most important ones are that the golf ball will travelfurther when played this way and the second is that if you are playing a dog leg hole you can bring the ball round the corner.

A great club for this, is the TaylorMade R7 Draw DriverWhen you are struggling this club can help you out

To play a draw shot requires a littlechange in your golf stance and a flexibility in your wrists. The plan is to bring the clubface down onto the ball slightly closed and then turn it over through impact.

Set up to the ball in the normal way, shoulders, hips and feet allaligned parallel to the target line, remember to be parallel to the target not pointing at it. You are to the left of the ball so your body must be lined up left of the target. Think train tracks, you are one rail the ball is the other.

Now move your rear foot backwardsmarginally your body will turn to the right but keep the clubface still. You have actually closed the clubface. This will cause the club to swing down from inside the ball, that is on your side of it, to the outside. This action at impact will generate a reverseclockwise spin on the ball.

When you swing your club ensure you do so along your feet line, do not try to adjust for the angle of the target line. Draw the club back smoothly and low to the turf creating width to the swing.

The R7 Draw Driver by TaylorMade will give you confidence to really attactk this shot.

At the top of the back swing keep the transition smooth as you reverse direction, aiming to get the right elbow into your midriff. This will get the club coming into the ball from the inside and up.

Swing through completely letting your forearms to exchange position, this ensures that your hands release through the ball further enhancing the draw spin. Watch as your ball begins down the right side of the fairway and smoothly turns in to the middle, bounces and rolls for another fifty a simple memoranda for remembering how to draw golf balls is: Feet aiming to where the ball begins, clubface pointing to where you want it to end.

Golf clubs are expensive items yet are essential when is comes to playing the game of golf. The most importanttip I was given was that when first starting out was never buy a new set of clubs. Once you are sure you enjoy the game enough to take it seriously then and only then should you contemplate buying new golf clubs.

When you are starting out there is so much to consider and learn. Golf is a difficult sport and you may decide it is not for you. As soon as you fell you have grasped the basics of golf you will want to choose clubs that fit you and suit your golfing style. The best way to start is to begin your golfing career with cheap used clubs.

So you have decided you want to learn how to play golf and you don’t want the expense of new clubs but where are you going to find these cheaper alternatives the following are some excellent suggestions:

• Golf rental clubs – Most golf clubs have sets of clubs that can be rented these are predominantly for visitors who have not been able to bring their own but can also be hired by beginners. When on the golf courseor on the driving range ask your friends if you can try their clubs this will provide you with an opportunity to find which clubs suit you.

• Ask the resident expert – Most golf clubs have a golf shop with a resident expert, they will be able to advise you where to start and may also have some previously owned clubs that have been put up for sale by other golfersupgrading. Some clubs also offer a service to their members where they will offer to sell their unwanted golfing goods.

You should always consult people who know their golfing stuff as they will be able to offer you the best suggestions for clubs etc to suit your style and ability

• Car Boot Sales And Internet Auctions – These are fantastic places for picking up bargains to try. You can buy individual clubs or whole sets. It is a great way to try different clubs without spending a fortune and is the club is not for you then you can resell it on e-bay! The downside is that you are unable to try before you buy but if you have done some research beforehand you will have a fair idea what it is you are looking for.

You may find that your second hand clubs are a little worn/in need of sprucing up this shouldn’t be a problem as it is quite inexpensive to replace grips and a little ‘spit & polish’ goes a long way. Try to pick clubs that are in good condition but be realistic in the fact that all clubs will want care and attention at some point

Remember the best way to choose a used club is to actually hold it in your hand and attempt to play the shot they were meant for this will give you the chance to see how they ‘feel’. The feel of a golf club is important as if you feel comfortable with the club the more likely you are to be successful with it. Confidence is a big factor when when playing golf

In the game of golf, having the right golf clubs is very important. To the untrained eye a golf club is a just a golf club, one is not different from another but the pros know that there is a big difference between a golf club and the right golf club. Usually it is recommended that beginner golfers learn with a half set of golf clubs. These usually have matching iron of the same model and consists of five iron clubs, which includes 4, 6, 8, pitching wedge and sand iron, and 3 and 5 woods plus a putter. The driver is conspicuously absent from the half set and that’s because it’s the most difficult to control and the point of the using the half set is to be able to control the clubs easily and perfect your swing. Talent and skill may not be enough to ensure victory in the game of golf. Sometimes, you will need the assistance of others and a few golf swing aids to improve your game.

The first golf swing aid is the weighted club. This instrument is two to five pounds heavier than what you normally use when you play golf. Why this is so useful is the fact that it helps you practice your swing in slow motion so you get the correct form and do this properly during the tournament.

If you are like some golfers who have a hard time keeping their arms together during the course of the swing, you will find the stretchable arm band very useful. This should be placed in between your triceps so that you are forming the letter “V” from the moment you start your swing until the follow through.

How you hold the golf club is also important in the game. You should not hold it too tight and one aid that can help you do that is the golf grip. The nice thing about this device is that it fits all kinds of clubs. It is made of plastic so you can easily take it off and remove. If your have slippery hands, make use of golfing clubs.

Sometimes, your upper body is not the problem when you are trying to do your best in the game. Perhaps, your footing is what needs to be improved on and for that, the foot wedge was invented so for you right handed players out there, your weight is on your fight foot.

Apart from golf swing aids which you use on the green, there are other materials which you can use at home. You can buy a golf DVD and then try to practice what you learn by following what the person is saying.

You can watch yourself swing as a mirror is there. If it is hard to swing and observe yourself in the mirror, get a video recorder and then play it back when you are done.

If you can afford to hire someone as a coach, that will be great because you get feedback from that person instead of second guessing if what you did in the mirror or video is correct.

Golf clinics may be done regularly but how often does it happen where you live? The golf swing aids mentioned can easily be purchased from the sporting goods store. Most of these are sold for under $20 so it will not hurt your pocket so much just to improve your game.

Should the golf swing aids mentioned be not available in the store, check for these items online. It is possible that they are much cheaper here even if you add shipping costs so check what is available.

There are many brands to choose from that sell these various golf swing aids. Whether this is saleable compared to other brands should be checked before buying one.

If the feedback given by other golf enthusiasts are good, try it out yourself and see if this can improve your game or not. Don’t forget to practice because the golf swing aids can only do so much when what really matters is how well do without them during a game.

If you want to improve your golf swing and you can dedicate time and of course money to it then golf swing analysis software could be just the thing you need.

When people purchase golf swing analysis software, a lot of them fail to consider the necessary computer software required. Many people know about golf swing video analysis software programs and how they work. It is still wise, however to check if your computer has the necessary power and parts that is needed to run the software.

When you purchase golf swing analysis software, check the package labels to see if your computer system matches the requirements needed by the software. These things are necessary because if your computer does not have the parts required or it is improperly configured, the analyzer program will not run and be useless.

To get the best out of this software you should check to see whether your computer hardware configuration meets or exceeds the recommended minumum requirements. Evaluate if your computer meets these system requirements and if possible provide more than those.

It takes literaly only a few seconds for you to complete a full golf swing from start to finish. Television channels use fancy cameras to obtain a good video of a professional’s golf swing. This allows the television show to analyze the components of the swing and for the commentators to discuss it in detail. In your situation for using it on a more personal level, such fancy cameras are not needed. Still, you will need to have a decent camera that can record your full swing and then be able to easily upload it to view tih your software.

To reiterate, it is always a good idea to check the packaging of the golf swing analysis software and see what its requirements are. Check what camera specifications it needs so that it can work in tandem with the software on your computer. If possible, having a camera that has specifications that exceed that of what is required by the software will ensure the system runs correctly.

A good monitor can make all the difference

A significant component for your golf swing analysis software program is the computer monitor. The screen should be big enough so that the images from the software can easily be viewed on the monitor. It should also have adequate resolution so that the software generated output will fit the screen. As already stated, check the golf swing analysis software label as it should also provide you with the minumum monitor specifications.
