hybrid golf clubs
Heather asked:

I have a 5/27 degree club. What does that mean, and when would I use it?
I am a new golfer, and I don’t know where to use the 5/27 degree hybrid club. Take into consideration I am a female, so I don’t hit as far.

How do you use hybrid clubs in golf?

Many golfers are now purchasing used Callaway golf equipment for a variety of reasons.  Some golfers want to save money on a better brand of golf equipment that they could not have afforded otherwise.Others choose to purchase this type of golf equipment as a practice set to use until they feel good enough to upgrade to a more expensive set.Whatever the reason the equipment is being sort, purchasing used Callaway golf equipment for a golfer can be a difficult task.  There are several things to keep in mind when purchasing used Callaway golf equipment and keeping these items in mind will make the process much smoother.

The Type Of used Callaway golf equipment Is Needed

The first thing to keep in mind when choosing used Callaway golf equipment is the reason that the equipment is being purchased for.  If the equipment is being chosen to provide a practice set for the golfer, then the design and quality of the equipment is not as important as the price of the set.  On the other hand, if the used Callaway golf equipment is going to be the golfer’s main equipment for playing the game, then the durability of the equipment may be the most important factor.  Keeping in mind what the equipment will be used for after purchase will help eliminate the possibility that the equipment chosen will not be functional for the use it is intended for.  Many times, golfers choose cheap golf equipment that is impractical to use because it is too uncomfortable for their height or stance because of the brand that is attached to the equipment.

How Often Will The Equipment Be Used

Another thing to keep in mind when choosing used Callaway golf equipment is the amount of use that the equipment will receive.  Equipment that will only be used for a specific season will have different qualities than equipment that is intended to be used for most of the year.  Likewise, the number of times that the person will be using the used Callaway golf equipment during the season is equally important.  Equipment that will be used by a serious golfer a couple times a week in an area where golf can be played year round will need to be much more durable than the equipment used by a golfer maybe three or four times a year.  The length of time that the equipment will be in use is a very important indicator of what type of used Callaway golf equipment should be chosen, because the cheaper versions of the equipment may not hold up to the strain of heavy use, causing the golfer to have to purchase more golf equipment in the near future.

Cheap Golf Equipment

In today’s troubled economy, everyone is looking for ways to save money on their purchases, whether it is food, clothing, or equipment for playing on the golf course.  If you are looking for new golf equipment for improving your golfing game, you may want to consider cheap golf equipment that costs half as much but is just as good for playing the game.  There are a few different methods that can be used to obtain cheap golf equipment so that you can play your favorite golf course without spending a great deal of money.

On The Internet

One of the best places to find cheap golf equipment is on the internet, where many different types of retailers have their stores.  Many of these retailers get their equipment from traditional stores that are making room for more merchandise or direct from the manufacturer, so the internet retailer is able to get the golf equipment at a discounted price and pass the savings on to consumers.Purchasing cheap golf equipment from an internet store can save as much as 50% of the price for the equipment in a traditional store and it will be the same brand and style that would have been available in the store.

Another common way to obtain cheap golf equipment on the internet is to bid on the equipment using an online auction website.  There are a number of different websites that will allow you to specify the amount of money that you would be willing to pay for a particular set of golf equipment and if the amount of your bid is the highest bid, you will be able to purchase the cheap golf equipment for the price that was specified. You can purchase either new and used golf equipment using this method and using this method allows the person to stay within their price range for purchasing the golf equipment.

Retail Stores

Many large retail stores that have a sporting goods section may also carry cheap golf equipment in their stores. The selection of cheap golf equipment found in these stores will be limited as most of these stores do not carry massive amounts of manufacturers in their sporting goods section.  Some of these stores sell cheaper versions of brand name items while some others sell used equipment that has been sold to them by the previous owners.

The quality of the cheap golf equipment purchased from some of these retail stores may not be as high as you would like it to be.  Some of these equipment items are made cheaply and are intended for people who are not too picky about the equipment that they use on the golf course or while practicing at the range.  This cheap golf equipment is priced inexpensively so that the person will not think twice about upgrading to more expensive golf equipment once they have become more secure about their ability to play the game.

hybrid golf clubs
Franko Rizzo asked:

I’ve recently taken up golf but am not real serious. I took a month of group lessons, which I enjoyed and will likely hit the links at least 8-10 times a year but not much more (so not a lot); but I do go to the range quite often.

I’ve been playing with these used hybrid clubs which I don’t like much. After taking lessons, my golf instructor was recommending RedBird golf clubs in Seattle which does a good job custom fitting. But the price is around $550 for the set of irons. Not sure if this is a good investment or not. I figured I’d be using them for the next 10 years or so. Plus I fall on the short side—about 5’7” on a good day—so thought custom fit clubs might be a good option rather than some nice used ones off of craigslist.com or something. What do you golfing people think? Over $500 too much for a not-so-serious player?

However, they’ll cost around $530
