keysound asked:

Are there any serious disadvantages for a woman (golf beginner) using men’s golf clubs? Advantages?

I have a friend selling his USED taylormade irons set (1999 model) and mcgregor woods 3,5, driver for US $150, so we are tempted to buy this.

My wife is learning to play golf just because her job is in sales and sometimes need to play with customers for good relations. However, she wants me to play with her sometime, so we are thinking of sharing the same set of clubs. I don’t foresee us both taking this game seriously to play it regularly enough.

We know that the shaft of men’s clubs is longer than women’s clubs. My wife is 5’3″ tall, 160 lbs. Will it severely negatively affect her golf game if she uses the taylormade men’s clubs? Will she still be able to play decent golf?

The McGregor men’s driver that comes with it is at 9 or 10 degrees. Will she be able to handle this?

Our other option is to buy a brand new LADIES golf set (slazenger brand) for US $250.

Thanks.
If we buy the men’s golf set for her, can she still switch to a ladies golf set later on with serious problems?

AGCP Club Fitters Video

Getting a custom golf club fitting can be ideal to an avid golf club player. So why should you get a customized fitting? Well let’s look and see. A custom golf club fitting is going to look at how you play the game as well as measure you to insure that you are playing with a set of clubs that will work for your body type. Some people will buy a used golf club or set of clubs and this is fine. You can find some really great deals on used equipment. Getting a custom golf club fitting will involve the dealer or retailer doing the fitting to know:

  • Gender of the player.
  • Height of the player in shoes and socks.
  • The distance from the floor to the golfer's wrist.
  • Player’s age.
  • The skill level and handicap of the player
  • The swing of the player.
  • What club the player typically uses from around the 150 marker.

So why do they need to know this to do a custom golf club fitting? Well for one gender has a lot to do with getting the perfect fitting. Men and women vary in standards and measurements. Your height as well as distance form your wrist to the floor will help in determining what length of club is going to be ideal for you. What is left over will determine your ideal shaft flex for you. If you don’t have the right size club for you then your game of golf will suffer for it. There is also a great little online customizer that you can use to get a general idea on your custom golf club fitting. You can find it at http://www.pinemeadowgolf.com/cfw/.

It has been said that you can look at custom golf club fitting in four areas:

  • Shaft flex
  • Shaft length
  • Lie angle
  • Loft

According to the World of Golf, the Shaft flex is defined as how much force in the swing is necessary to make the shaft perform the way it should. The shaft length measured from the top of the grip straight down the shaft to the sole of the club head. The lie angle is defined as is the angle formed by the sole of the club and the shaft. The loft of a golf club is the angle formed by the face of the club and the shaft.

You can see that custom golf club fitting is a very important part of playing a great golf game. There are so many factors to consider. A true golfer is going to do the research and take the time to get all the information that he or she need before making a final decision and purchase. A good set of golf clubs is a major investment not only in your game but financially as well. So insuring that you are getting the golf clubs that will work best for your body type is important. You don’t have to have a custom golf club fitting or buy a customized set but it is highly recommended. After all, isn’t your golf game worth it?

Demo Of Slazenger Golf Club Driver

A good set of golf clubs can sometimes make the difference between a good game and a bad game. Every golfer has a different swing and body type make sure that the golf clubs that you buy suit both your swing and body type. No one set of golf clubs is going to be ideal for everyone.

You can get golf club sets from anywhere. The price of the set will range anywhere from typically anywhere from $170 and can go as high as a couple of thousand dollars. Golf has been a game that has been loved for years and has grown in popularity. In the earlier days you didn’t see very many retailers selling golfing items. Now, there is a golf store in almost every town. It pays to check out some golf club reviews to make sure you get a decent golf club set. These reviews will take individual clubs as well as the entire golf club set and let you know what those who have tested them thought about the club. Was it good for long fairway shots? Was the putter ideal for helping you get that hole in one? If you’re going to invest a lot of money into a set of clubs then you want to make sure it is a set that is going to b worth what you paid for it. A good golf club set can be pretty pricey but is a worthy investment.

Nowadays you can purchase golf clubs either in a retail store or online. If you are going to buy the clubs online it might pay to try a set out at a store first. In this case it is very important to make sure that you have previously tested the same name brand and style of clubs before you buy them. You don’t want to get the set and then realize it wasn’t what you wanted or doesn’t work for the way you play the game. Like any other sport you need to make sure that your golf clubs suit you.

Golf if a popular sport and it is growing day by day not only in fans but in players as well. Retailers of golf club sets are growing as well. Every child wants to grow up and be the next Tiger Woods. Every man wants to be the next Arnold Palmer. Every woman wants to be the next LPGA champion. The only way to become that is to practice, practice, practice and to have a golf club set that is made for you and your love of this game. Take your time and choose wisely. Golf is a game that is relaxing and fun once you get the hang of it. First make sure that you love the game enough to make an investment in the tools to play it. Once you’ve made your purchase go out and just have some fun.

Example Golf Ball Review

When a new product is launched on the market most people will not really know how well that product will perform. In the case of golf balls too people that have not used a newly launched golf ball brand will not know whether or not it is worth buying such golf balls. Since people generally read reviews before purchasing products in the case of golf balls too it would make perfect sense to first of all read a distance golf ball review to find out the pros and cons of the ball.

Many Golf Ball Constructors

The numbers of golf ball manufacturers today are many which mean that the competition among these manufacturers is very stiff. What’s more, there are many varieties of golf balls being sold and you will need to know about features such as the changing number of dimples in different golf balls. Construction methods too vary and there are all kinds of golf balls that will travel different distances depending on how they were made.

A distance golf ball review will help enlighten you about different brands and different features. In the case of a newly launched golf ball this information can be really useful because only by understanding how various models for different brands perform can you succeed in finding the right golf ball for your particular abilities. Whether you wish to buy a golf ball made by Nike or some other big brand manufacturer, you will do well to first read a distance golf ball review about the brand and only then venture into putting your money down to own such a ball.

A distance golf ball review will provide you with the entire lowdown regarding a golf ball’s features and capabilities. However, the most important aspect to a golf ball is its construction and here again, a distance golf ball review will inform you about whether the golf ball is three-piece or four-piece; information that can help you decides which type is most suitable for your game.

Of course, you should not take the word of the author of a distance golf ball review as being the whole truth; you may need to read several distance golf ball reviews before concluding as to the veracity of opinions expressed. By being well informed before buying your golf ball you will at the very least stand a better chance of buying the right golf ball. This is the main benefit to reading and relying on distance golf ball reviews.

Once you have the required implements required to play golf it is then necessary that you find a suitable golf course and also know the rules in force at that course. Some of these rules are applicable at every course while others may apply locally to particular courses. To ensure that you get maximum pleasure from playing at different courses makes sure to know and follow all of the applicable rules.

Are there any serious disadvantages for a woman (beginner) using men’s golf clubs?

Everyone loves to play a game of golf, it is probably one of the most competitive games around and no matter how old a person gets there is still room in their lives for golf.

Golf is not like football or any other sport, as you will probably never see a 60 year old running around on a football pitch. But in comparison you will always see them on the golf course, as it’s relaxing and it is also very healthy for the body and mind. Did you know that playing one complete game of golf a week will add years to your life?

If you are elderly you may steer well clear away from golf course, as even though you may love the game in itself, you are probably worried about walking the green. This is especially the case if people are suffering from asthma or arthritis, but you should not fear as there are ways in which you can help yourself, one of these ways comes in the form of electric trolleys and golf carts or buggies. These will help you in two ways as listed below.

1 – First and foremost if you hire or own a golf buggy then you will be in golfing heaven. These are very good for getting around big greens and putting the fun back into the game. Think of it this way, if you were to spend all of your energy walking most of the green you would probably end up getting very tired and this would ultimately effect your game, not to mention that it will ruin the fun element.

2 – The second helpful tip comes in the form of electric golf trolleys, while you are out of the golf buggy there will be some limited walking to do. There is nothing harder than dragging along heavy clubs with you, especially if you have a bad back. Therefore hiring or purchasing an electric golf trolley is a must and will help you a massive amount. It will take your mind off of any strenuous tasks so you can proceed to win the game!

If you are elderly and deciding to call it a day to your golfing hobby, I would say that you should carefully think about this, as getting hold of the above equipment will make your life a lot easier. And in all honesty what is better than breathing in some nice fresh air while playing a great round of golf.

Hand Engrave Gold Golf Ball Marker

When it comes to using a magnetic golf ball marker there is in fact no better option than to use one that is personalized and which at the same time also is sure to looks elegant and which must also be crafted so as to ensure durability. A personalized magnetic golf ball marker can make for a unique gift that will be appreciated for many years. A good magnetic golf ball marker can be of two sizes and is usually as thin as a dime.

Mark The Location Of Your Golf Ball

For those people that do not play golf and who don’t understand what a magnetic golf ball marker is there is information available that will show them that this is something that is used to mark a golf ball’s location as it (the golf ball) lies on a putting green. With the help of this marker a golfer can lift the ball so that the ball does not interfere with the other golfer’s line of play and when the ball has been lifted it can then also be wiped clean as well.

A personalized magnetic golf ball marker is something that every golfer is sure to appreciate having as it, when your name is engraved (up to a certain number of letters) on the surface of the golf ball will make for an excellent golf accessory. In addition, if you want, you can even use the magnetic golf ball marker to engrave an image on the ball’s surface.

Usually, a magnetic golf ball marker is made out of metal that possesses qualities of durability and which weighs and feels very good as well. Of course, you can also choose a marker that has nickel plating if you want to give the marker a more lustrous look. A typical penny-sized magnetic golf ball marker (personalized) will cost you no more than six dollars and it also comes in a gift box with foam rubber inserts that help to keep the marker in place.

There no doubts that a personalized magnetic golf ball marker makes for an excellent gift and is also well suited as a giveaway at tournaments as well as makes for an outstanding corporate gift. A golf ball retriever is another great golfing accessory that is also a money saver and which every golfer will appreciate and would like to keep in their golf bags. Such an accessory is a brilliant way of getting your ball if it lands in water or for finding balls in your golf bag.

Playing golf is expensive; you have to buy all the essential golf equipment, golf accessories, and pay membership fees or green fees. Many will also need to invest in professional golf swing lessons and other golf learning supplies. Unfortunately, you will find that there is always something else that you "must" invest in - like golf bag accessories.

The following top 3 golf bag accessories are not necessary for everyone. Untidy golfers won’t want the first one, golfers that don’t travel to play golf in other parts won’t need the second one, and for those that play golf in cold climates might not need the third one.

The Golf Bag Organizer

If you do find that you have no where suitable to store your golf bag and equipment, then you should get a golf bag organizer. By keeping everything in one place, a good golf bag storage rack will protect your valuable golf gear. When you go to play your next round of golf, you can just grab your golf bag of the rack and you are ready to go.

You will find that most golf bag organizers are sturdy, functional, efficient, and even stylish. They are designed to either sit on the floor or be hung on the wall, and hold one or two golf bags, along with various shelves for shoes, accessories, towels, and whatever other gear you might want to keep to hand. There are many styles and materials to choose from, like hardwood finishes, tubular metal, and even plastic.

Golf Travel Bags

If you do indeed travel with your clubs, whether it's for a business excursion, or an extended golf vacation, it's important to know that you've got everything you need to make your round pleasurable. To make sure all your gear arrives safely and intact, you will need a golf travel bag.

There are basically two types to choose from. The first is an all-in-one combo golf bag and travel bag. Many golfers like the ease and practicality of a special golf club travel bag that doubles as a travel case. On the other hand, the second type is for golfers that don't like to unpack their existing golf bag and put everything back into a travel bag. Alternatively, you can buy a quality travel case, and simply store your bag and golf equipment inside the case for travelling.

Golf Bag Coolers

A golf bag cooler is the last of my top 3 golf bag accessories. If you find yourself playing golf when it is over 100 in the shade, and you’re far from a beverage cart or water fountain, you can get an insulated golf bag cooler. These handy items are insulated, waterproof, and soft-sided, so they can be stored in any large opening in your bag.

You will find golf bag coolers in many different sizes, ranging from 6 to 12 cans, or even 6 bottles plus a packed lunch. These watertight bags can be packed with ice, or you can use cooler packs that can be re-frozen repeatedly. Because coolers come with a handy shoulder strap, they can also be carried as an all-purpose travel cooler.

So, depending on whether you want to get your golf gear in order, enjoy more golf trips, or keep your cool on the golf course, I am sure you will find a golf bag accessory for you. If you play your golf in Ireland or Scotland, you will need yet another golf bag accessory - an umbrella!

Custom Golf Clubs Video

As everyone with a keen interest in golf will have realized, playing the game well involves using several different kinds of golf clubs, and in fact, the more fastidious golfers are even known to pack as many as fourteen separate custom made golf clubs in their golf bags. The idea of course is to ensure that the swing is kept constant while it is ok if distances achieved are variable; though, the flight of the ball can be distinctive – depending on the golf club being used.

Every golfer must per force have to face the challenge of striking the golf ball long and hard down the fairway and it is therefore vital that they choose their golf club driver with great care to ensure that they achieve their goals. Of course, one must also practice long and hard in order to achieve consistency with striking the golf club with a golf club driver, and so, it is not enough to have a good driver: learning how to strike it with consistency is also very important.

It is entirely up to you whether you are able to master the art of driving the golf ball long and hard and it can make your golf club driver a personal best friend, or in case you cannot overcome your inconsistency the driver can easily become your worst enemy. It is obvious that you can improve your golf game only if you have the best quality golf club driver and so, you should, at the very outset, learn and know how to choose one that will help you improve your game.

In case you do decide on buying a custom golf club set, you should then ask the builder to ensure that there is nothing lacking when it concerns the lie, loft, flex and length as well as type of club being made for you. What’s more, the clubs must be constructed so as to complement your golf swing and in this regard you can even get your clubs made to have their own slice or draw built into the clubs.

Another aspect to buying custom golf club sets is knowing which clubs are absolutely necessary and which you can do without. Most certainly, there should be a putter, a driver, three and five woods, and perhaps a three iron as well as nine iron and either a wedge or a two iron or some other combination of irons and wedges.

You need to know which are the best materials that help make a golf club perform better, and here again a golf club review will give you important leads to help you choose the best options. Some people even prefer buying a customized golf club set to ensure that nothing comes in the way of helping them to play the best golf possible.

Even though there are several advantages to using custom golf club sets, you must nevertheless understand that such golf clubs are geared more towards improving the game of accomplished golfers rather than average golfers.
