My husband wants to take up golf and is looking for a set of clubs. Which clubs–irons, woods and putters, and sizes–should he start off with?

Beginner Golfer asked:

These are the only available beginner’s sets in the Philippines. In any case, I’d just like to know which model or even brand for that matter between the 3 is more reliable. Also consider that the Top Flite XL set does not have a SW.

Kelly asked:

We have to start by pushing a button and then need these steps in it pouring a cup of water into another cup, raising an object 5 times its height and releasing it, any 10 second sequence, turn a light on, and throw a golf ball at least 2 meters into a container….also we can have any other steps inbetween those as long as we have those steps. no time limit.

ckinthehizzy asked:

I am a beginner golfer with probably less than 30 games under my belt. I am sick of borrowing/renting bags and am going to buy a complete set, and feel like I shouldn’t have to spend a whole lot more than $200.00.
The 2 main brands I continue to run into in this price range are Hippo & Acuity.
Here is what I have learned from the web:
Acuity is a DiksSportingGoods brand. It sounds like IF they don’t lose their heads they are a really club to start out with. (But I have read a lot of reviews saying they lost their heads)
Hippo is a brand from england with a decent history in the game, I have not read about as many incidents of breakage with Hippo, but I have heard a little more dis-satisfaction with the performance.

Any input or recommendations for other good beginner clubs would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

ConnorWilhem3 asked:

Don’t reply telling me not to. I don’t have enough money to pay $40 to $50 each time on want to play golf. I played competitive high school golf and now don’t have the money because I’m in college.

My strategies include late day golf, stealing Club Car keys, and sneaking on rainy days.
What a load of crap. Sneaking onto a golf course when there’s no one playing is the same thing as stealing a car? Trespassing is not a win lose economically. No one is losing money when you play free golf and respect the course like I do at off peak hours. I’ve gotten caught and no one has ever taken me to court. My law school frat brother says no course is going to pay a lawyer to prosecute some college kid. Please answer the question at hand.

Why so serious!? asked:

I was wondering what are some good ways to practice golf in you’r backyard prferably without spending tons of money, please. I don’t have that big of a yard, I also live in a decently busy neighborhood so I dont want to hit a car or a home. Basically put, what are some safe and fun ways to practice golf in my backyard? I would like ideas that include woods, irons, wedges, and putter. If you could list a (few) websites that have products that I could purchase to use please do so.
Thanks for all the help,
TigerWoodsFan.
