I’m using my dad’s old clubs right now, and they’re ancient. His driver is a low profile driver, so the club face is pretty small, unlike the beasts I see out there today. Can anyone recommend a decent driver for a golfer of my caliber. If not a specific one then just a good company I should check out. Thanks.

I’m a new beginning adult golfer and have been playing for about a year. I recently found a new golf instructor that I’m happy with and is finally fine tuning my swing. He found that I’ve been having trouble with my stance and took one of my clubs (Nike Ignite 6-iron) and measured it against a Taylormade 6-iron and found a significant difference in shaft length (the Nike over 1/4 inch shorter) (I’m 6′ tall). He had me hit the Taylormade Tour Burner and it was night/day…..the Taylormade was easier to hit since I wasn’t “hunched” over as much. I’ve been having trouble hitting my Nike short irons and find it easier to hit my 4, 5, and 6 irons. My instructor suggests new clubs since re-shafting and new grips may be close to buying new clubs. Does anyone have ideas? Does anyone know for sure if the Ignites are significantly shorter? My instructor suggests lengthening my clubs 1 inch….should I just use inserts (plugs) on my Ignites, re-shaft or purchase new clubs? Many Thanks!
Just to let anyone know, these were purchased as new clubs and have never been lengthened or worked on.

Does anyone know for sure if the Ignite irons are indeed shorter than some of the other name brands out there?

I choose to use the three wood becuase I have not control over my Sasquatch driver that was rented to me at lessons. My ball at the beginning gets a nice height and then curves absurdly to the right. I think it gets too much distance to be classified as a slice especially in comparison to other shots and this is happens 70% of the time.

A ton of people who I talk to say that they drive the ball 310+ yards but when I watch them actually play, it only goes about 275 to just under 300. Also, they say they usually score in the high 70s or low 80s, however when we play their score is closer to high 90s or 100s. Why lie about a gentlemen’s game?

The article stated that newly constructed golf courses were encroaching onto the just-discovered species habitat and some unfortunate golfers who ventured into the swampy rough would come out screaming with hungry frogs attached to their necks.

Since I have never met another person who saw the article I’m beginning to wonder if I just imagined or dreamed it.
