My clubs are like 4th generation hand me downs and am looking to replace them. I’m debating between a set of irons (3-PW) by Ben Hogan edge. They’re probably 5 years old, but very well taken care of… And a set of Walter Hagen SB3 with the 2 hybrids. Those clubs are only about a year and half old. Which would be a better buy. Both are around 100 (the hogans are about 100, the walter hagens are about 120)… help me out… Oh, and one other question, should I get a driver (I found a good deal on a Cleveland 460 Ti)
I don’t have a putter either, what about a Ping Anser putter…?

Could you also reccomend a good place to buy the set? I live in North West London but do not mind travelling to anywhere in London.

I just ordered a driver on line and that is all I own. I’m going to practice driving at a virtual golf place until it gets warmer outside. I am an absolute beginner. What would be the minimum clubs I would need to actually play a round? I am an older (54) female so think the hybrids would be good for me. I am not actually looking for brand recommendations here, but club types. That said, the Callaway GES system sounds good to me because it apparently only has seven clubs which sounds about right to me but I am having trouble finding it. Does anyone know how I could replicate that buying individual clubs? I don’t really want a full set, at least not yet. And carrying 14 clubs around, many of which I probably wouldn’t use at least not soon, sounds like a waste of energy. So what is the minimum and what are they? Please be specific because a lot of what I have read is pretty confusing. So many choices! Thanks.

get, he could be found on the golf course swinging away. It was an
obsession.

One Sunday after a dreadful winter dawned a picture perfect day for
golfing. The sun was out, no clouds in the sky, and the temperature was
just right, that ideal, rare, incredible proto-spring day which pleads
with us to come away and dally.

The preacher was in a quandary as to what to do, and shortly, the urge
to play golf overcame him. He called an assistant to tell him that he
was sick, arranged for the assistant to take his morning and evening
services, packed the car up, and drove three hours to a golf course
where no one would recognize him. Happily, he began to play the course.

His guardian angel was watching the preacher and was quite perturbed.

He went to God and said, “Look at this preacher. He should be punished
for what he is doing.” God agreed.

The preacher teed up on the first hole, a murderous PAR 4. He swung at
the ball, and it sailed effortlessly through the air and landed right in
the cup, five hundred yards away (as they say in basketball, nothing but
net). A picture perfecthole-in-one. The preacher was staggered, amazed,
and terrifically excited.

The angel was a little shocked. He turned to God and said, “Begging
Your pardon Lord, but I thought you were going to punish him.”

The Lord smiled. “Think about it — whom can he tell?”
