ehchan_um asked:

I’m a beginner to golf, and I’m just wondering if the quality of the materials used in golf clubs (specifically drivers) affect its distance. I mean, there are golf club sets that are as low as $100, and some where each club itself is $500. And material range have like graphite or copper or I dunno what nowadays. So, do materials used in clubs affect distance of the golf ball?

Gargamel asked:

I see lots of full sets of golf clubs on Ebay between $80-$200 bucks. I assume these are knockoffs, BUT as a golf novice, is anything wrong with me getting one of these sets to start with?

I would of course buy from only power sellers with 99% positive feedback.

Also if some of you have purchased some of these yourself, can you tell me about your experience with these clubs and if you recommend it.

thanks

Lollie asked:

I am 5ft 1 (and a half!) tall, and looking to get my first set of ladies beginner’s clubs.

I live in the UK, and as I’m only newly graduated and an entire novice really, i’m not looking to spend alot, probably with a budget of about £100-£200 (thats 200-400USD).

I have seen that there are petite sets available – and wonder what are the advantages and disadvantages of me purchasing a normal ladies or a petite ladies set.

A few of the sets I have come across are :
Lady Golf Girl:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/GolfGirl-Pink-Collection-Ladies-Golf/dp/B000XD0UHW

Prosimmon x30 Petite ladies golf set:

http://www.thesportshq.com/ProductDetails.asp?Affiliate=Shopzilla&PCLinkID=1133

and the Hippo Magia XS ladies golf set 2008.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this, or particular reccomendations etc…

I kind of like the golf girl set, and I know a petite one of it exists but I can’t find it on any UK site, only US sites! Need input, please help!

I ? animals asked:

I’m thinking of joining the golf team next year for my last PE credit, instead of having to go to PE. I know absolutely nothing about Golf, and I am a very slow learner. Also if you’re on the golf team at my school you have to compete. Would I be better off to go to PE or be on the golf team?
Thanks!

BRIAN M asked:

A husband and wife want to take golf lessons from a pro at a local country club. The man and woman meet the pro and head onto the driving range. The man goes up to hit first. He swings and hits the ball 100 yards.
The golf pro says not bad. “Now hold the club as firm as you hold your wife’s breasts”. The man follows instructions and hits the ball 300 yards. The golf pro says “Excellent!”

Now the woman takes her turn. Her ball goes 30 yards. The golf pro said, “Not bad, but try holding the club like you hold your husbands d*ck.” She swings and the ball goes 10 yards.
The golf pro said, “Not bad, but now try taking the club out of your mouth and then hit the ball.”

odd asked:

Ya know, I used to think that golf is so boring, but now I’m seriously taking up on it. It started out as a company thing. My boss talked me into a company tournament, and I was just trying to patronize him. But I’m really liking it now. Being out there on the green field on a beautiful day, surrounded by trees with a little bit of water, a little bit of sand, here and there; a picturesque scenery, it’s great. And when you’re out there with a partner and all the other golfers are at a distance away, you really feel the privacy, even though you’re out in the open, that’s also so great. It really promotes conversations. Now I know why people like to talk business over a golf game, it just makes it so enjoyable. I also know now why a lot old couples like to golf together. Anyway…so I guess I just wanted to share this with everyone and ask everyone a question: Golf, anyone? :)

Mymother is going to a golf outing can you please tell me by the following paragraph if she will be golfing all 18 holes or just little contests and approx how long it will take…………”The OWMA Golf Classic uses a scramble format of play to accomodate players of all skill levels and with a mix of traditional and new hole contests, it is guaranteed to be a fun day for everyone. A 1:00 p.m. shotgun start kicks off the event that includes a cookout lunch before golf, hole contests, prizes for first second and third place teams and hole contest winners, and a buffet dinner.”

All answers are APPRECIATED. THANKS!
