What major would you have to go into to design golf clubs for a living? What is the pay for designing golf clubs? Like designing the next clubs for callaway or taylormade.

Brat asked:

So, to make it short. My ex boyfriend was/is/may not be a PGA European Golf Tour Pro. We broke up an he owed me money, long story… I have his clubs/bag, which were apparently made for him by Taylormade. And a slope/range finder (only Taylormade issue) possibly why I can’t find it anywhere onlne! I’m beginning to find a lot of little flaws in some of his stories. I think he played golf but I’m no longer sure if he was actually a PGA Pro, or he was at one time but no longer. So, I’m trying to sell his stuff to recoup what he owes me. I’ve heard about special serial numbers on PRO issued clubs. Like a distinct # pattern different than the standard issue/public clubs. Can anyone tell me if this is true? what should the # contain if PRO? I just want to get back what is owed to me and it would probably help a little if I could truthfully put “PRO” when selling them. Thanks anyone that can help me. If u have any more info please skaribrat@gmail.com.
And PS.. Im not trying to be a B%^$ch to him.. I waited two months, he gave me a million excuses as to why he didn’t get the money to me, and then he just dissappeared. So, my bad I got screwed, now Im just trying to pay my bills. ;o) Didn’t want anyone not to answer, thinking I was just some mean ex selling off stuff…. thanks again.
Yea, they all have numbers, Im just not sure how to tell if they are “pro” serial numbers or not. ;o( thank you both for the advice!!

Dbuga asked:

I only started over the summer and I decided to wait until I knew a little more about the game until I decided to buy some clubs and now I think I am there, but still don’t know everything. I would like to buy a set and I think if I bought a 1 and 3 wood, 5, 7, and 9 iron, a pitching wedge, a sand wedge, and a putter I would be set for now, is this a good combination and how much should a beginner club cost me?
