observing_corpse asked:

I want to build an adventure-style miniature golf in Boise, Idaho. I have a few names, but I’m wondering if anyone has any other suggestions. There’s going to be a large waterfall as the centerpiece of the course, and then meandering streams running through the course while you play. Some of the names I’ve come up with are:

Boise Falls Adventure Golf

Rolling Falls Adventure Golf

Rushing Falls Adventure Golf

Lost Falls Adventure Golf

Adventure Falls Miniature Golf

Do any of those sound appealing? Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Bagbalm Catdew asked:

A guy receives an ad in the mail for a golf resort where everything costs one dollar. He jumps at the offer and heads off for a weekend of fun in the sun.

He arrives and plays a round of golf. It cost him a buck. When he goes for dinner that evening, it costs him another buck. His room is only a buck a day!

The day before he’s to check out, he heads out to play a last round and stops by the pro shop and charges a sleeve of three balls to his room.

When he’s checking out next morning, he looks at the bill and sees:

Golf: $1.00
Dinner: $1.00
Room: $1.00.
Sleeve of golf balls: $3,000.00

He asks the Manager, “What is this all about? Everything is supposed to cost one dollar, and you charged me three thousand for three golf balls?”

“I’m sorry, sir, said the manager, but you didn’t read the fine print in our promotional brochure. That’s what our golf balls cost.”

“Well, said the man, If I wanted to spend that kind of money, I could’ve gone to that luxury hotel across the street and paid them a thousand dollars a day for a room. At least I would’ve known what I was paying for!”

“That’s right, sir, you could have, said the manager. Over there they get you by the room. Over here we get you by the balls!”

Paul S asked:

My name is Paul Swanson, and I have just written a new novel, “A Country Mile To Par.” As the title suggests, the novel is framed around golf. I’m wondering what other golf novels members recommend.
In “A Country Mile To Par,” Dexter McCandless is a high school senior with far more gifts than the usual high school senior: an awe-inspiring, prodigious golf talent and a seemingly limitless future.
But when a painful family trauma spills out in the most public of ways, Dexter’s life on and off the course crumbles, leading him to Michael Owens, a reclusive English teacher whose shared passion for golf forms a bond between student and teacher. Together, the grown man and young boy journey towards a place where Dexter can learn to cope with the pain of his family’s destruction. Yet even as he becomes more and more intertwined with Dexter’s search for healing, Michael is taken back to a long abandoned past to confront his own hidden but unforgotten family secret.

golfbabe_92 asked:

for fathers day my brothers and i are thinking about getting some golf stuff to put in a basket for my dad. he doesn’t need clothes b/c he just got a bunch. he doesn’t need gift cards to play golf b/c we can play free at like 8 golf courses and country clubs. so, i am trying to think of things to get him.
any suggestions?
he plays atleast 2-3 times a week and most of my family plays. my sisters who don’t golf are getting him something else.
i just have no idea what certain golf things to get him.

thanks!!
we thought about clubs but he just got a new driver and putter in like january and he loves his irons and says he doesn’t want/need new ones.
by the way… price isn’t really an issue because there is like 5 of us going in on this together and 2 of my brothers work at golf stores so we get really good deals.

bumindabum asked:

Me and my friend are juniors in high school and we are going to try out for the golf team. The downside of it is we are the first girls to ever join or even tryout for the golf team. We have never played a full game of golf either. This week was vacation and we have putted and swung a lot. I hope we are ready. The only thing we really need to do know is play a 9 – hole game, we have played on the wii though. Does anybody have any golf advice, tips, or even words of wisdom which we can think about for when we tryout??

the funny ducky asked:

A preacher woke up one Sunday morning and looked outside and saw it was a beautiful day. He decided to skip church and go play golf. So he called the junior pastor at his church and told him he was sick and couldn’t give the sermon. The junior pastor told him not to worry, he would deliver the sermon.
The pastor drove about 40 miles away from town to avoid being spotted. As he was setting up his first drive on the first hole, Jesus leaned over to God in heaven and asked him, “Are You going to let him get away with this?” God told Jesus not to worry, he would handle it. Right as God said that, the preacher hit the drive of his life. The ball traveled all 450 feet to the green, bounced once, and rolled in the hole. The preacher was ecstatic. Jesus asked God,”Why would you let him do that?”
God said, “Because, who is he gonna tell?”
